2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

If thats true that all coaches declined her other than Plushenko her pride must be hurt. I want to see Stasya smiling not crying.

If she was at test skates at Mishin and Moskvina, it's obvious that Angels of Plushenko wouldn't have been tempting choice for her.

I’d be happier if they sent Ksenia. She clearly had a stronger season. Maiia has never scored close to 200 internationally. She is behind 6 other skaters who will be at JWC. Ksenia is behind 1, it’s just another Eteri perk and its honestly unfair to other skaters.

So in that sense, yes I’m happy that they will suffer embarrassment if she performs poorly.

Do you know anything about junior nationals or just come in occasionally with your blanket statements to move your own agenda?

Last season, Kanysheva was left off the JW team despite having a much better season (medalled at JGPF where Ksenia didn't this season) and the spot went to Ksenia who did better at nationals even though she didn't even make JGPF (and didn't get a second JGP spot). Similar situation to Maiia this season. Both were coached by Panova so coaching perk there.

The season before, Tarakanova, who was coached by Eteri, was left off the JW team despite medalling at JGPF and going almost clean at nationals. The spot went to Konstantinova who didn't make JGPF and had major errors at nationals. Not sure where the Eteri perk was there.

I prefer Sinitsyna too but it was obvious Maiia would get it after nationals. This is how the selection has always been made in Russia. There is no Eteri perk. It's not unfair as this is public information and all skaters know nationals is selection for the world team and they have to deliver. Historically they don't go by world standing, seasons bests, or GP results. All skaters, coached by Eteri or otherwise, have undergone the same selection.

Or perhaps she didn‘t liked the other coaches or the training conditions or took the wise decision to get the opportunity to do shows, which the best skaters get to do at Plushenko‘s Academy.
Yeah, let‘s always think bad about the skaters and spread bad rumours about them, especially when they are young people barely adult.

I believe the nastya you are talking about losing a junior world spot to Stasya was Nastya G not Nastya T. Don't tell me that happened twice. I hope not.

Indeed it did. What happens now, happens for a forth time in a row.
Poor Sinichka. :( The same thing happened again, for 4th year in a row.
In 2017 Gubanova did not go to JW, in 2018 - Tarakanova, in 2019 - Kanysheva and in 2020 - maybe Sinitsyna.
Gubanova was a JGPF silver medalist, Tarakanova - JGPF bronze medalist, Kanysheva - JGPF bronze medalist and Sinitsyna - 4th place at JGPF. Instead of Gubanova in 2017 and Tarakanova in 2018, Konstantinova went to JW (two times in a row). She did not qalify for any JGPF, right? Sinitsyna went to JW because of Kostornaya's injury and over both Kanysheva and Tarakanova who had more success during the season and now Maya will go over Sinitsyna.

Well, you could say they both "lost" the spot that year (2018). Nastya G. because she was 4th at JNats, and according to the opinion of many, she should've been 3rd. In fact, the final difference between 3rd/4th was around 1 point. Stasya recieved just enough in the fp to overtake Gubanova's sp advantage (IIRC Stasya had had some error in the sp). Nastya T. "lost" the spot because she was 3rd at JGPF (in addition to having won a JGP), and skated cleanly at nationals IIRC, although only placed something like 7th, but the difference between 7th and 3rd was only 8 points, so you can see where the controversy was. Either way, many considered either of them more worthy than Stasya. Heck, even Anna Shcherbakova went on the win the RCF, beating even Trusova with one quad landed, which was still before junior worlds, and some thought even she should be sent over Stasya. In addition to that, you could say that Gubanova also "lost" her spot in 2017, as she had placed second at the JGPF but wasn't named to the junior worlds team, although admittedly Stasya was second at junior nationals while Nastya G. was 7th and I have no idea how anyone performed that year at nationals and if those places were "deserved".

I think it was both.
Nastia G in 16-17 season got a silver at JGPF and didn’t make the world team, Konstantinova and Tsurskaya went to JrW.
In 17-18 Nastia T got a bronze at JGPF, didn’t make the world team, Konstantinova went with Aliona and Sasha.

Last year Tarusina, Tarakanova too (in addition to Kanysheva) had better results than Ksenia on JGP, but lost to Ksenia ~6 and ~11 points at JrNats.

4th year in a row? Terrible. Unfair.

Go back and watch Junior Russian Nationals that year Nastia was flawless. Finishing fourth was a joke. Clearly should have been 3rd or higher as all those in front of her fell. She was also outstanding at the Grand Prix final and won 2 gold medals on the Junior Grand Prix circuit leading up to the finals and then you add in how good she was at the Russian Nationals her quality of season was much better than Stanislovas. Something strange goes on with a decision makers of the Federation. now of course it's much easier for them because the 3A girls are on a level of their own.

Sometimes I think the Federation doesn't care about these girls at all just sees them as a piece of meat because if they don't make it or they they give up there are more coming.

Estonian coach and former skater Anna Levandi-Kondrasheva stated her opinion about EC:
- EC starts after 3rd place for next 20 girls.

So, I thought if ISU can move Russian FS out of the Europenean scope? Let RusFed decide who they want sending to participate in WC without going to EC?
Let the Europenean skaters compete for medals...

Hahaha. I dreamt tonight that Russia participates at 4CC as well, since it is a transcontinental country. But then again Georgia, Azerbaijan and Israel also take part at EC.

Alexia Paganini (she is American) is not Russian and she has perfect skating technique:

We've heard so many about so called imaginary "perfect technique" already... It's like in some football comment: "Our team showed us great play, kicking technique, perfect dodges, excellent passes... yet lost zero to four."
