2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

You can and many skaters actually did even the last year, esp. from federations who don't have many competitive skaters (Eva Lotta Kiibus, Alexandra Feigin and others). Just competing in junior and senior GP during the same season isn't allowed. The other problem is that it is pretty close and it can be difficult to have two top competitions back to back. That's why there were talks about whether Artur Danielian will attend junior worlds or not for instance.

And besides Kurakova and Tornaghi, Ryabova and Urushadze will be at Junior Worlds as well. I expect all these girls to be at Senior Worlds, it will be interesting to see how they can cope with two major championships so close to each other.

But they looked pretty well, I guess You won't linger with putting them into competitive programs.

You is quite tall already IIRC, so should have the quads under her belt and keep them in working order come JWC and next season. Will she still be JPG eligible?

There will most likely be 4 Khrustalniy skaters in next years JGP qualifications, Valiyeva, Usachyova, Khromykh and newbie Petrosyan. Frolova again probably and I really hope Samodelkina and possibly Muravyova will be given a chance. And the wonderful Osokina and dynamite Gorbachyova too of course. These girls distinguished themselves last week and are worthy representatives from the regions. Who knows they are already learning triksels and quads?

But first the Russian Cup finals in youths and adults. 12 juniors and 10 seniors are scheduled to compete, and a lot is at stake again. Hopefully we'll learn their names pretty soon.

You Young moved to seniors this season. She medaled at Skate Canada and 4CC. Being the clear leader in Korea, I don't think she wants to go back to juniors.

This You's videos are from two years ago, you know.
No, these clips are newer ones. They were filmed recently. In two of the clips you can hear her current FS and SP music. The clip you mean is the one from Colorado from 1 1/2 years ago where she also attempted a 4Lz.

I did that analysis after Cup of China and I think Anna lost about 6-7 points in GOE for her ! calls on all her 5 Lutzes.
But imo, those edge calls were all really harsh.
They weren't harsh, Anna has a flat edge on her lutzes and it should be called

Is Berestovskaya gonna be junior eligible next season?

And I look so forward to Petrosyan and Samodelkina, such wonderful young talents

Figure skating summer camp cirquit training, commando style. Featuring 8 year old Alina Gorbachyova: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qczgPbybeWI

It might seem cruel working kids out like this, but there were trainers around watching and guiding, and sporting girls like Alina probably love the challenge and the feeling of satisfaction a completed cirquit brings.

Alina competed excellently in the recent Junior National Championships, no doubt catching the attention of the officials. Had she not stepped out on her Euler in the big combination, she would have been in the top 10, which is really excellent given the depth and quality of the field. This is how you condition young and strong athletes for such competitions, so they don't falter.

No wonder she shoots over the ice at such high speeds in both the short and free programs, like a little dynamo, and kept both her huge jumps, technical elements and her grades of execution at a very high level.

Here is Alina at 11, telling a little about herself, and skating to 'Kukushka' no less: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H7qXTMgnfw

She only started skating at 7, is 12 now, and I'll try to collect all her clips, results and information for a page in the Fan Fest. Like Valeriya Shulskaya, girls from the regions deserve more attention against the dominance of the Muscovites. But Alina trains in Moscow at 'Triumf' rink.

No, she is the youngest out of Akatieva/Samodelkina/Berestovskaya. Only Samodelkina will be eligible next season (plus Petrosyan and Muravyova).

Meanwhile You Young landed 4lz and 4lo in practice.

It will be extremely interesting what will usual suspects do once she does land them in competition  I am sure You-know-who already has a ruler and a scope ready to measure angle of edge and 'pre rotation' size  ... in a video shown alongside 4lz of Hanyu and Boyang, of course

The quad loop is a game changer. And mention of it does belong in this forum, because certainly it affects 3A, and all the others behind them. IMO it is just....spectacular. It makes me gasp.

Trusova will be so furious if she doesn't get it first...;)

The Crystal Dome pets are under embargo now. No videos, no talks, only sweet and primitive photos and clips, like that useless double cantilever

I'm in doubt we are going to have 4Lo landed at Worlds. It usually takes some time to make a new jump ready.

They weren't harsh, Anna has a flat edge on her lutzes and it should be called

Anna's edge moves from deep outside to flat.

Most likely, at the exact second of toe pick assistance it's slightly outside. That, according to rules, is least important error and if jumps are overwise good (apart of mythical 'pre rotation') Anna getting +3 GOE on these jumps is absolutely logical. Sure, her technique isn't perfect GOE wise, but she isn't getting +5 on these jumps.

That may be true but thats why i also don't think ! Is harsh, since it means unclear edge and Anna does have unclear edges on her lutzes, and we are allowed to say it. Doesn't take anything away from her as a skater

Having unclear edge sometimes doesn't make you having unclear edge all the time.
