Given the puberty issues of Trusova and Kostornaia, I think Anna would have won worlds. Very sad for her. I'm not sure why it can't be rescheduled for -say-September.

It was cancelled by the Quebec govt (from Radio Canada: Le gouvernement du Québec annule le Championnat du monde de patinage artistique qui devait commencer lundi à Montréal.); ISU might re-schedule it - those slowpokes have still not said anything on their website.
Their statement says now:
Considering the current uncertain developments surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, a rescheduling and/or relocation of the above-mentioned Championships within the current season, even if the season would be extended by several weeks after its normal end in early April, cannot be reasonably considered. During the coming weeks, the ISU will evaluate in cooperation with all stakeholders whether the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2020 could possibly be held later in the year, but in any case not before October 2020. Before taking a final decision, the ISU will remain in close contact with Skate Canada and ISU Members.
And then? Two world championships within four months? That is nonsense.

Unfortunately having WC-2020 cancelled or denied for Russian ladies specifically means some of them may safety end their career as a competitive skater.
Next year - next stars.
Which programs would they use? When would they fit it in
But really not necessary those skater already are in the middle of the gp series, . And then hold a world championship at the beginning of the season, that could spell a lot of disaster too for some skaters because some need time for the programm to really develops , and that happens in the ongoing season.More like 6 mos, and it would be doable.
The new programs they are ready to go with at Russian test skates. The Russian girls in particular always seem ready to go in September. Some of them, IMO look better in September than they do in March.

They are saying october would be the earliest, are you still all forgetting that the gp is starting or has started already, when exactly do the skaters have time to squeeze in such a huge championship.? And at the beginning of the season were the programms are still fresh? A lot could go wrong. Let it stay cancelled and just start the next season.Whoops, didn't read it carefully, but they could do October, and then move a spring version back a month. Still, within four months might not be that awful, skaters at this elite level could handle it.
