2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Alina Gorbachyova already in Krasnoyarsk, showing us the arena for the X-th Winter Spartakiad: https://www.instagram.com/p/B9x9kYTJVkp/

Here, https://www.instagram.com/p/B9v3fsaJwi2/ , she writes she made the national selection thanks to her 4th place finish in the Russian Superiority past weekend. Well done, little dynamite :-)
She also likes horseback riding: https://www.instagram.com/p/B2wZkDrpC3o/

So hopefully this event will take place: https://fsrussia.ru/sorevnovaniya/4...-uchashchikhsya-yunosheskaya-rossii-2020.html
30 boys and 30 girls from all over Russia will compete in single skating, along with 15 dance couples and 6 pairs, 192 competitors in all.

Alina will take to the ice March 17, from 15:00 local time. I believe Dar'ya Usachyova is also amongst the competitors.

There is also an official site of the responsible organisation, but I cannot make any sense of its website: http://fcpsr.ru/sobytiya/2190-20-fevralya-20-marta-2020-goda.html other than it seems figure skating is the concluding event.

Live stream?

Live scoring? http://www.krascsp.ru/meropriyatiya/x_zimnyaya_spartakiada_ychashihsya_rossi1411/

A lot of events have already been streamed: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=X+зимняя+Спартакиада

I'm glad Alina was selected. I felt her PCS scores were below what they should have been in comparison to the more well known skaters.

It's going to be a good competition: Akat'yeva and Usachyova have arrived too. Vaytkus and Dmitriyeva also. Along with Gorbachyova, I expect the medalist to come from this group. Hope for Alina to win the Bronze :-)
Some good boys, though no Khrustalyats. At least two strong pairs.

Start list for tomorrow, best skaters nicely divided over the flights: https://fsrussia.ru/results/1920/sparta2020/SEG003.HTM

At the same time, the Finals of Sankt Peterburg Cup will take place: http://fskating.spb.ru/news/final-kubka-sankt-peterburga-4 , the event will take place under strict rules and compulsory temperature checks, and no audience will be admitted.

Notable competitors: Eva Kobzar, Arina Kshetskaya, Sof'ya Moroz

In the mean time, sports school pupils are still skating their competitions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qlBl4V6Cqc

Tutberidze's Show of Champions postponed, according to TASS: https://tass.ru/sport/7990433 , new dates not yet established.

Russian government is thinking about a nationwide ban on sporting events or any events over a certain number of spectators, which doesn't bode well for the FFKKR show of 29 March.

Most remaining figure skating events have hardly any spectators, but who knows might get cancelled too when a person involved in figure skating gets diagnosed with the virus.

All events with more than 50 participants/spectators are cancelled in Moscow till 10.04.20. Also, all schools (including sports ones) will be closed from 21.03. till 12.04.20. - from mayors decree dated 16.03.20.

Will be youtube-stream of this competition?

We'll know by tomorrow. There seem to be quite some local sporting organisations involved in live streaming. But the figure skating is taking place where the short track was held.

Things are turning from bad to worse in Russia, most likely, all event will be canceled/postponed in next couple of weeks.

KHL stubbornly tried to go on, even after Jokerit and Baris quitting but after Moscow Banned all sporting events, most likely they will have to shut down the season (I doubt they are going to play without CSKA)

It's interesting what will happen to Candidates tournament in Chess which is scheduled to start tomorrow in Ekaternburg and of Course, UFC events.

Meanwhile Khrustalny seems to be training, as of today morning.

All of Eteri's Shows are almost certainly canceled now.

So this is why Akatieva chose not to participate in Younger Age Nationals (although doing two competitions in a row hasn't seemed to stop her before). Does this competition have some sort of appeal to skaters, is there some sort of monetary prize or some great prestige or something? Otherwise I just can't imagine why Akatieva would choose it over (one of her) nationals and why skaters would go after a great performance at junior worlds (Trusova and Shcherbakova last year and Daria this year)?

In Russia Spartakiada is truly quite prestigeous competition.

I'm excited to see how Russia divides their JGP spots:

I think Valieva, Usacheva, Khromykh, Samodelkina and probably Petrosyan will get two spots. Frolova, Muravyeva, and Dmitrieva, will probably get one, and if they skate good then they'll get 2. I'm really hoping that Muravyeva can get 2 spots though!

My prediction for the junior national team next year

-Anna Frolova, year 2 (Davydov)
-Sofia Samodelkina, year 1 (Davydov)
-Adelya Petrosyan, year 1, (Eteri)
-Kamila Valieva, year 2 (ETeri)
-Daria Usacheva, year 2 (Eteri)
-Maya Khromykh, year 2 (Eteri)
-Sofia Muravyova, year 1 (Eteri) (she improved a lot she was originally an alternate for nationals and ended up in the top half)
-Anastasia Zinina, year 1 (idk the coach)
I'm leaving the alternate spots open cause ya know, with the endless depth that is RUssia nladies, ther is always somenoe to emerge. I would put down Kamila Sultanmagomedova but she is 15 and that is usually the turning point with Russian ladies (ie Kostyuk, Safonova, Shabotova, Panenkova, and co) so we'll see what happens, though she was never really in the conversation for international assignments. They all have 3Lz+3T

I'm assuming the JGP assignments will go something like this
Valieva, Samodelkina, Khromykh, Usacheva, Petrosyan: guarenteed 2 spots
Frolova: pretty sure she's getting 2 spos just based off the fact she was 6th and highest jr at sr nats
wildcards: Tarakanova, Vasilieva, Zinina, Muravyova, anyone else that pops up during the off season

Thoughts? I am def excited for the debut of SAmodelkina
