2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

It might have something to do with Instagram engagement. Anna has posted a lot more often than Alyona in the past year.

Anna has a huge following on instagram, so I'm not surprised.

And yet, despite not posting that much at all, Aliona has 105K Instagram followers vs 91.6K for Anna currently.

Of course, they both are way behind Sasha, who has 179K followers. That is comparable to Liza with 180K followers, but wayyyy behind Alina and Zhenya, with 772K and 823K followers, respectively.

Personally, I've been hoping that Aliona gets a sponsorship not from a sportswear brand like Nike, Addidas, but from a luxury brand like Dior, Louis Vuitton, or Gucci. ;)

The Honorary President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Valentin Piseyev told RIA Novosti that during restrictions on mass events in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, one should not think about gathering the national team in Novogorsk near Moscow.

Moscow schools stopped working in accordance with the decree of the mayor of the capital, Sergey Sobyanin, restricting the activities of sports organizations in the city from March 21 to April 12. Inna Goncharenko, Merited Trainer of Russia, in an interview with RIA Novosti stated the need to consider the option of training the leaders of the Russian national figure skating team in quarantine at a base in Novogorsk.

“ There is nothing impossible, it’s another matter whether it is advisable to do this. We should proceed from these considerations,” Piseyev said about the possible organization of a gathering for the leaders of the national team. for the pauses in the two-week training process, it’s unlikely that anything will fundamentally change. Therefore, I think it’s better not to risk our health. "

“ In this situation it is not up to us to decide, there are decrees and decrees, therefore we only have to obey. Nothing depends on the coaches and athletes in this situation, ” the ex-head of the FFKKR added.

Those skaters still seen practicing are probably in closed facilities outside of official control or in areas of less restriction.

" According to St. Petersburg trainers, classes in the city on the Neva are still ongoing. “Training continues with the written consent of the parents, where children are concerned, or with the consent of the adult athletes themselves,” said Leonova, who studies at the Yubileyniy Figure Skating Academy. “ Naturally, everyone who comes to the academy has a temperature check at the entrance. They say that tomorrow it will be decided whether they will shut us down or not. "

One of the Russian sports dailies, Sport Express, conducted their own version of the cancelled ISU Skating Awards poll on their website; with the following results:

Most valuable skater - Alina
Best costume - Alina
Best programme - Alina
Best newcomer (seniors) - Alexandra
Best choreographer - Daniil
Best coach - Eteri

TeamTut wins again :)

Did someone of the voters watch some skating lately?
Looks like a poll from October '19

jokes apart, I wonder why ISU did not disclose the results

It’s just that these people voted for those whom they love, and not for the results of the season. )

And the public vote was probably way out of line from what Zakaryan and his 'expert judges' had in mind ....

Funny part - this poll was run by one of the SportExpress editors known for being one of the biggest Alina & Eteri h8ers in Russia.

War which most likely was going behind the scenes between Plushenko and TT just spilled in the open.

Interesting times are ahead of Us.

Sambo-70 definitely isn't powerless organisation, so most certainly, we won't have to wait for a long time for answer.

Dmitriy Kuznetsov of Sport Express seems to have an agenda, since he gave his article the tag [Scandal].

Kuznetsov has been observed over the last couple of months trying to gain access into the inner circles of some rinks. Khrustalniy not opening up, Plyushchenko's Angels playing along, as was to be expected.

So now other 'means' are employed, all in the name of journalism of course: https://www.sport-express.ru/figure...rda-aksenova-shou-s-alinoy-zagitovoy-1656277/.

When Zakaryan gets involved, this also means Rudkovskaya and by extension Plyushchenko himself with his ever bragging about his 'show empire' and 'endless opportunities only he can provide'.

So whoever started this, there must be some connection ....

Plushenko does indeed have connections But considering involvement of Roskoncert (and Andrey Malishev in particular) and Navka (and Dmitry Peskov by proxy) with investigating things related to Navka-show somebody may be punching way above their weight class.

anyways, this will get interesting.

Investigative committee (sort of Anti corruption department of AG) is investigating Aksenov (Deputy chief of Khrustalny) for Fraud and Abusing authority.

That is according to a single source, a Telegram channel, only. IC (Moscow, which is supposedly active in this case) does not have any info on their website (and they would have definitely posted about an 8 mln fraud case being allegedly investigated), and neither has any reputed media (and sports.ru & SE are definitely not one of those) reported on this and/or posted a confirmation from the IC. So basically, it's a rumour; and has nothing to do with this thread.

It's not "Sport Express'" Kuznetsov who found about this, but "Sports.ru's" Aleksey Avdokhin: https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1082581352.html

I respect the guy to sign his name under the text revealing potential involvement of sb from Tutberidze's group into fraud.

Very very curious to see what happens to these lower-ranked skaters if the following season goes on as planned:

Valeria Shulskaia: she’s 15, right? Or will be 16 in the coming season? I wonder what RusFed thinks of her. Will they put her on the jgp at 16 years old? Will she be sent to senior B’s? She’s not necessarily a bad skater, she just has no spark.

Serefima Sakhanovich: 19 or 20 years old? She seems determined. Idk what will happen with her.

Ksenia Sinitsina: will be 16. Another jgp season? A coaching change?

Stanislava Konstantinova: will be 20. Is she considered too old?
