Alexandra Trusova switching from Tutberidze to Plushenko

And who knows? Maybe Trusova would not have even that. This year there were no Worlds and next season she may not even be a part of the Russian team, since she is no longer a part of Eteri's camp.
This may be a good thing. Now Zagitova can go to another Worlds and win a medal.
And for next season the team can be Kostornaya, Valieva and Zagitova (in case that Anna loses her jumps). So for Eteri is somehow easier now. Four or three people fighting for the Olympic team and not five.

Aaaaand equally, next year may be when another, or two others of the ones you name, start faltering and falling back. Stop trying to piss off karma here.

Coaches who have one or more at the very top vying for the same prize will always run into problems no matter how fairly they try and divide their time/attention/benefits. It's been acknowledged by all concerned that in the run up to the Olympics, even the famed Yuzu-Javi brother/teammate bond was strained to the point where Brian had them at different rinks sometimes. And they were both grown adults of remarkable generosity and consideration for each other (Javi's especially still amazes fans) and a fair share of the golden goodies each.

Every coach works so that each of their skaters has their best chances of the rewards, sure. But whether they admit it or not, each skater wants it all themselves and - as I actually said before this Trusova business went kablooey - There Can Be Only One. Even the Olympic Champion seemed to get caught in it - her lovely chipmunk-cheek smile was getting tighter and tighter in every posed photo last year. Was she happy, is she eager to come back and face what tightened it again? Fans don't know, and she's not going to give a hint till she's ready, leave the girl alone.

And while it may seem that leaving the top team for a fairly untried one is a recipe for disaster - we don't know until it unfolds. After all, nothing lasts forever... and nothing, when the ice is slippery, can be taken for granted.

Since Eteri has a spot vacant can she take in Sinitsyna. That girl needs a top rated coach. She is already getting good PCS with Eteri she'll definitely hit 35+ and 70+ easily.

No way! Kanysheva.2.0? No and no!
I think Eteri proved that is not a good idea to leave her - Lipnitskaya, Medvedeva and etc or to join her later - Kanysheva.

Right because hysterical opinions are worth a salt. She managed to turn an Orser reject and put her above her former star pupil at Worlds in 1 season. So no she is certainly capable of putting underperforming skaters to their maximum ability.

As much as I sideeye Eteri's methods, what she did with Tsury was a masterstroke.

Tsury was with camp Orser for multiple seasons and went nowhere. 1 season with Eteri and she's World silver medallist. Can't argue with results.

That being said, Tsury is probably done with skating given her back injury and IDK how much of that was exacerbated by practicing quads.

Tursynbaeva was originally Eteri's skater. She then switched to Orser and then she came back to Eteri. That is why I do not mention her.

Where do you want me to base it? You can give me an example and I'll think to come back with one.
Examples would have to be presented by those who make allegations, not those who would like to request proof of those allegations. But thanks. Your answer actually reveals everything I wanted to know. There is nothing substantial behind the claim.

Nobody disagrees over the reasons and motivations. When the magic has stopped working, it's time for a change. Looking back, and putting all the evidence together the writing was on the wall that it didn't work for Trusova in her first senior year. When no more acceptable and agreeable changes could be made anymore before she'd be entering her second senior year lagging behind, the tether has reached its span and needs to be cut, and Trusova set free.

It's just the timing and apparent secrecy, mostly on the part of Rozanov's transfer, that created the bad mood.

For Aleksandra it is now 'a Porsche for a jump' instead of a puppy ;-)

Like has been suggested, Aleksandra best keep quiet for a while, and let the adults handle her image and PR. No additional burden of pleasing your social media followers, not having to read the hate, let her slowly figure out for herself how to deal with all this new attention. Medvyedeva didn't get any happier in her meetings with the press and media, always forced into defense, never able to really speak her mind. Aleksandra will now face that too, when I posted her 'Days of Innocence' are past.

Plushenko has 8 dogs  I'm jus saying. Maybe Aleksandra will be satisfied with the dogs later on. When you want to kick on Plushenko you diminish and hurt Sasha, too. :scowl:

Edwin, I appreciate you as the Tutberidze fanatic who, in contrast to the rest of this category, appears polite and fair. At least most. But sometimes I doubt you. What is this stupid saying with the Porsche? Why do you turn a harmless anecdote from Sasha's childhood into a basic pattern and give the impression that Sasha needs such rewards? Your idol herself once said in an interview that Sasha was the one in her team who NEVER had to motivate her to train once. Everything comes from herself. I find it unworthy to disparage such a girl like this. Sorry.

He said it bc Plushenko and his wife have Porsches. They are the ambassador of that brand in Russia. And Edwin can't stand it.

I think she is switching mainly because she and her parents know, that during Olympic season in team Eteri there will be not only 3 contenders for the 3 olympic spots but at least 5-6 of them and thats not even counting Sasha herself (Usacheva, Khromykh, Valieva, Scherbakova, Kostornaya and Zagitova). And I just can't see how they can take care of all of them and give each of them enough attention and time each of them may feel they need and without any tension between the athletes and Sasha and her parents probably could see and feel it this season already. Like team Eteri is good but I don't think that it's possible even for them, it's probably impossible for any couching team to do something like that. I remember from last olympics that Fernandez and Hanyu had to train at different rinks, because tension was that high and there was only two of them.
But this is only speculation on my part, so it can be totally wrong

I don't see how Usacheva and Khromykh will be serious contenders for Olympic spot in Eteri team. Now when Zhilina left - does anyone here know which remarkable younger novice girls are in Tutberidze group? Adelya Petrosyan?

If Alina had gotten an advertising contract with Porsche and would loll at the photo shoot in the 911 convertible, all TT fans would be overjoyed and would probably praise Eteri for having made such a good deal possible for her. So what?

Your arguments and reasoning are solid and sound, and in agreement with the general consensus of having so many talented skaters training on the same ice, Elizabeth.

More transfers might follow, perhaps some we don’t know about yet?

Given this is the final opportunity to have something really changed in your training approach and mental preparation to the 2022 Olympics, for the almost complete athlete that is Aleksandra Trusova. It’s all on her now.

Only less drama??

Consider it this way, if you are unhappy in your job, would you tell your colleagues with whom you are competing for orders, assignments and bonuses?
Would you tell your manager you are planning on leaving when a promotion or lucrative order might be coming your way?
How would you behave in talks over keeping you on board, discussing pay rises, promotion when you've hinted at leaving?

When you’ve made up your mind, already accepted elsewhere half a year before term ends? How would you behave, plodding on, keeping up appearances while already disconnected and elsewhere with your mind?

Would you try to bring some loyal customers/relations/clients/contracts of you over to your new employer?

Mr Trusov and Aleksandra probably passed through all these stages and took the only right decision: take your fate into your own hands and apply yourself fully in your new job.

With Petrosyan being lovely and exciting and all, and in contention for JGP events, while Akat’yeva is not, one shouldn’t be too concerned over her parents choosing another path for the development and realisation of their daughter.

If the Petrosyans decided that following Rozanov is best, they’ve applied for transfer too.

AFAIK, the Petrosyans don’t keep a social media presence, so we’ll have to wait for news or the new FFKKR rosters.

Of imminent concern are the 2022 Olympics, how to get there, how to medal there. This is what Trusova is aiming for, hoping she has a better chance being separate from her former rink mates.

#TeamTutberidzeForProgress is known for giving rejects from other rinks a chance.

Aleksandra apparently has been rejected from two rinks in her search for independence, now Plyushchenko’s is giving her a chance.

Petrosyan's and Akat’yeva’s time is still to come, as is Zhilina’s, Berestovskaya’s, Titova’s.

Age requirements, rules changing, RUS skating restructuring, it’s all unknown at the moment.

Another point, how many of the young boy novices might have followed Rozanov? We concentrate too much on the girls, there are wonderful boy skaters being trained in Khrustalniy too.

and who were those who rejected?

It's been discussed to death already, but oh well. We still don't really know the full story here so it's hard to form a reasonable opinion on it that isn't speculation, assumptions and strictly personal opinions on the coaching team.

I feel the internal competition and all the hype and expectation really took a toll on those three girls later in the season, especially on Sasha. Seeing her cry after her FS at Nationals was really tough - it reminded me that she's a child after all and not just a supergirl quad machine. Maybe a change in environment was really needed and it would be the best for everyone. I have mixed feelings about going to Evgeni, but in the end, no coach is perfect and no coach is a magican, so let's hope Sasha and her parents made the right call :) Good luck, Sasha!
