Bonaly, Ando, Cohen, Ito, Harding, Nakano, Nelidina, Asada, Nagasu, Tuktamysheva. All ladies landing elements that require more rotation than your standard triple jump and they are all taller than Sasha. That doesn’t even include the current ladies (Young You for example) who are significantly taller and are landing these elements. Sasha has the benefit of muscle memory from childhood with the quads. If her coaches do it right she should be okay and be able to retain at least most of them. Unless of course there is a giant flaw in technique that doesn’t allow it to work for different body types, in which case she will have to adapt her technique, but it’s doable.

What have you watched the same 2a of zhenya as I? She has a much better 2a now than before, it's bigger and she goes in with more speed then before. That part is questionable to say the least

So my understanding is they are not all taller than Sasha? And it is very clear triple axel is different than quads. Sasha struggles with this element but can land quads. Aliona is the opposite. There is much more evidence that ladies can maintain triple axel as adults. I’m guessing that quads rely on rotation speed (which may be more influenced by weight and body type) and triple axel may relay more on strength for achieving height which can be maintained or even increased in adulthood.
We just don’t know enough about the lasting power of quads in ladies because Sasha has really been the first.
Whole history of ladies quad till 2019, BTW:

Apart from the only ratified quad landed by Miki Ando (though clearly UR) and some attempts more or less close to success by Bonaly and Sasha Cohen the quad era was truly started by Sasha and her (now former) teammates.
I don't get the word "scandal." What's scandalous about an athlete switching coaches?

Well I can see where some might find it a bit scandalous I think the more accurate word is probably shocking - Trusova didn't exactly have a disaster season, and she left the coach that is probably the winning-est coach in the last 6 years for a coach with a very limited record in coaching and the record he does have at this point isn't all that successful past the novice level.
You have to start somewhere though, and Sofia Titova's success is nothing to sneeze at. She's the Novice Champion over the Sambo 70 girls, who seemed unbeatable.
Plushy's Academy has a lot of good resources, they have a full-sized rink and a team of trainers, some of them with lots of experience. It's not just Plushy coaching out of his garage or something, it's a serious facility with hardworking people in it.
It seems like people, Eteri in particular seem to forget they were once new coaches too, where would they be if no-one have them a chance?

Also, folks harping on about Sofia's win usually forget to mention that she lost in all three stages in that tournament (in elements, SP and FP) to other girls. Not that Titova's victory in the younger novice category means nothing, but it also doesn't mean much. Esp. when you consider for one team "not winning" in one category a significant blow, while for other just winning in one category should be considered somehow huge thing and probably turning point![]()

And when you start talking about 'envelopes', any judging decision immediately gets suspicious, esp since Plyushchenko's man Volkov was a very partial judge.
But the other girls made more mistakes in the final IIRC, so lost on points.
Coming novice season will be most interesting, with Veronika Zhilina now in #TeamHotRodRozanov ;-)

Are you accusing Plushenko of bribery? Because I'm pretty sure you are. In which case, you should take your evidence to the relevant authorities. If you have no evidence you should stop suggesting it.
I'm not exactly sure what Plushy ever did to you but you seem to really hate him.
For your information when he's at the Academy, which is a lot of the time he's there from 6am to 6pm, how many hours do you work a day?
And do you think putting together those end of year shows is easy? And of all the things to bash Plushy about, putting on amazing, spectacular figure skating shows? I'm not sure where you live, but here in Australia I'd love to be able to see something like that.
Honestly, I think Plushy could save 50 orphans from a burning building and you'd still have something horrible to say about him.

well, it was not Pluschenko that stared the media war. On the contrary, it was the other side that after the news came up started calling Trusova traitor, making statements that nobody so far succeeded with Pluschenko, belittle, etc, etc......He just responded in the same manner.
In my opinion, the athletes are not slaves, they have the right to change coaches and clubs and for such moves there are always reasons.
Yes, so far no significant success of Pluschenko as a trainer, but this is a young club and there is nothing wrong to be ambitious.
So lets wish him and Sasha success![]()
