How do we know they just want to live and skate in piece? They are already 16+ now and they are not 'just kids' anymore. If Julia liked Eteri's post, that can only mean she really wasn't comfortable to train on the same rink as Zhenya. I mean, those kids (as you called them) have the exactly same feelings as adults, and exactly the same things are motivated them. As money or popularity for example

When I read online translations of Daniil's IG video it seems that he thought Alena left Novogorsk two weeks ago because she wasn't feeling well. (Please correct me if I am wrong) I believe he thought that is all it was and had no reason to think otherwise. Dave Lease from TSL tweeted that he heard something about all of this going down on Monday. Based on Eteri & Daniil's reactions I think they were the last to know. If Eteri knew about this on Monday we would have been having this conversation on Monday. I'm not making an excuse for her. I just think this was always going to be her reaction and we got it as soon as she could post it after she heard.

Same with Daniil. He could have waited and posted after he had some distance from it and been a little more clear headed about the situation. I believe that video is pretty reflective of his first reaction.

She needed a medical excuse to leave the base since no one is allowed out. This is how Kolyada is reported to have also left the based.

I also thought he was doing some of the choreography for Eteri's younger ones, including Petrosyan and Akatieva. For what it's worth, I thought those were better programs by comparison. Not great but better.

Those were the same generic programs. Only Petrosyan's charm and personality made her programs stand out.

What is funny is the number of people agreeing with the high pcs that those programs were getting (Alena's twilight for eg) while saying at the same time that the choreo was mediocre.

I’m just confused because wasn’t it Kostornaya who wanted to change her fs last season from a classical piece to a more modern piece? Didn’t she ignore Eteri’s wishes by switching from No One Ever Called Me That to Twilight? I got the impression that Kostornaya likes modern better.
I’m just wondering. No need to say I’m on Eteri’s side or calling Plushenko a liar; I’m literally just asking a question.

I don't remember there ever being a reason given about why her free program was switched. Kostornaya was the one to announce No One Ever Called Me That, and then for whatever reason it was changed.

Because the girls actually are great skaters and made it somehow work. But his music cuts are literally more often then not awful. His choreo is also not that good if i look at kamilias constant leg kicking which so happens to not even fit into the music more often then not . Its the girls who make it work. Which just underlines how good these girls , young woman are to make a not so good choreo into a good one. Same with zhenyas tango two season ago, (which was naturally not choreographed by daniil but it can be said and even i as a zhenya fan can say that it was not a good choreo but she somehow made it work and drew the crowd in with her spirit

Kostornaia: Yes, we have a very unusual choice of music, but both me and the coaches like it. We immediately heard it and realised this is what we need. The image I have is the same as (Billie Eilish has) in the video, we tried to repeat it, but didn't completely copy it. It actually suits me very much. I can't say anything concrete yet. The program is new (but) I know for sure that I like it. And probably with every year the programs become more and more interesting.

there were 3 interviews published today, in 2 of them there was nothing about awful programs (though the rest information was the same). So unless I hear/see audio/video I will not believe he really did tell that. He is not modest, he definitely promises too much but he is correct.

I think Plushy isn't honest.
He knows how it will looks if he says that they made an agreement two months before but he let Aliona waste Eteri's time for whatever reason.
Aliona's wouldn't have called him just the day she left or one or two days before. That's hard to believe.

Seriously. Is there really someone who takes these statements at face value for the press? Nobody can be so naive. They are always just combinations of the same text modules. The skater, program and year are basically interchangeable. The fans just deceive theirself and believe it because they want to know something.

I always find when I watch Plushenko it is less about his artistry and more about his sheer charisma. He just has that "look at me" quality that is unteachable. I really wish he could help someone like Samarin who has beautiful jumps but little on ice performance quality. Evgeni was nearly always "on" in a way that hard to quantify. Natural performer maybe?

Plushenko has a natural elegance and a fantastic charisma. IMO is very artistic
