Alena Kostornaia leaves Tutberidze

That is exactly what bothers me about the whole report. Obviously a coach can't play favorites, etc., etc. It just seems impossible to imagine that Aliona or any skater would make such a demand.

(if a teenager did lash out like that, all the coach has to say is, "I have to treat everyone fairly." The end. The skater either goes or stays. There is no reason to involve Instagram, Twitter or the Russian equivalent of the National Enquirer -- or Golden Skate. ;) )

I wouldn't protest if these announcements were exclusively posted in threads here. It would be more convenient

:shame: on eteri. she/eteri does not deserve her name to be written with a capital letter. How black one's soul have to be to drag other "traitors" into this ( Jullia, Evgenia) and to make all the attempt to wash oneself clean and to make the girls look bad and to put herself on the pedestal. There is no words.
Self- worship is not a love of figure skating. And never was.

(Oh, oh, and her only favorite skater is Brian Boitano of course. Only a complete idiot would not be able to understand, why she said in her interview years ago ( actually at the time Evgenia left her) It came from/with the same spirit... may God help her indeed.)

I will never understand how people hate on Eteri for not being "classy" and showing "dirty laundry" to the world, but are somehow delighted by Plushenko, who beats his own son and parted ways with his previous students not much better than Eteri did (saying that Tarakanova probably has mental health problems, while Nastya was sure she left peacefully and didn't expect to hear something like that, and aparently Sakhanovich "betrayed his expectations - he used ruder expression which I will not translate).

If you really think Plush is a better coach and Eteri is an evil woman who abuses her pupils, you're in for a rude awakening during this season, when all these "acquisitions" start leaving him or retiring as well. And I'm quite confident he won't be "classy" about it.

I don't speak Russian and I haven't been raised in the Russian culture. Nor do I have any knowledge or insight into Russian sports culture. But in my opinion none of the adults in these situations have represented themselves very well.

Julia liking that post is the strangest thing. Looks like as if she agrees that she didn’t want to train with Evgenia, which... even if she actually did, would be a strange move to ever admit to that.
Yulia has grown up and understood Eteri and what she'd done for her. I wouldn't expect less from somebody with Yulia's inteligence and honesty she's been always known from.

yulia is also liking comments against eteri. And how she drags her name into it. Suffice to say she is not happy about eteri dragging her name into it once again.even if she laid what happenend between her and eteri to rest seems eteri did not or isn't willingly and again it doesnt give eteri the right to drag her name into it

I'm not impressed by either coach's behaviour, and saying Tutberidze's words were crass and dirty laundry has nothing to do with her rivalry with Plushenko. It is simply the truth. And she has been just as crass before; that she is clearly hurt and doesn't understand what keeps happening doesn't change that.

And I'm sorry to say my crystal ball isn't anywhere near as infallible as yours, but I venture to suggest that IF (not when) "these "acquisitions" don't start leaving him, if in fact his gamble works even partially, maybe the awakening will be more... mixed.

None of the adults and none of the teenagers (yes, they are not 6-year-olds, they are not complelely oblivious about what's going on around them and they are old enough to understand some things). In Russian culture (and most other cultures, I assume) the proper way to leave a coach would be to come to them in the off-season and say like a civilized person, in advance, that they are leaving. Especially after Medvedeva scandal. Say thank you and goodbye.

Instead we got parents, coaches and pupils that just don't learn from previous mistakes.

That's an ugly situation all around.

Funny that you mention zhenya when russian federation actually said when sahsa left that zhenya was one of the skater who followed the protocoll of leaving to a t. So dont get me started on eteri saying she didnt know. The russfed knew it so high chance she either knew it or rusfed didnt want her to know

I don't understand how "following the protocol" and "saying thank you and goodbye" corresponds at all. As a figure skating fan, I don't care about documents and formalities. It's about human decency.

Human decency also involves not dragging teenagers through the social media muck and inciting dogpiles on them simply because they have hurt/offended you by wanting out. I don't think you are helping your idol's case one little bit here.

Well if i get such a goodby present in form of dragging my name through the mud in public , over and over again and even after 2 years i actually would probably also forgo a personal goodbye and do what zhenyabdid she di thank her in mire than one interwiew. But i would probably not want to be in a ten mile radius of said personever again who thought it was a nice idea to make a deeply private conversation public with the only intention if setting haters against the other person and drag my name through the mud. And eteri did that knwoing exactly what the reaction would be, same as she does now with aljona or with sasha( well withsasha it was more her team but she didnt put a stop to the hate either) in the case of zhenya their were probably faults on bith sides but it doesnt give an adult woman in her midforties the right to smear the name of her so called exfavorite skater or drag it through the mud. It doesnt give her the right to do that with al sotevery skater that left her be it yulia, zhenya, sasha, or now aljona. She is the adult in that situation most of the ones who left her where underaged or still are underaged teenagers and most of them by the way act more mature than the real adult at least what they say in or not say in the public.

Whataboutism.

So, everyone is terrible. I guess we reached this conclusion.

Liking comments against sb sounds like conspiracy theory, lol.

People better to understand soon the so called conspiracy theory isn't actual.
The conspiracy practices are all around quite some time.

I think, while Brian might have been too open about his feelings about Yuna leaving, he has not badmouthed other skaters who have left him and there have been plenty. With Eteri it is becoming a pattern.

I get being hurt. I think when someone you have poured a lot of time and attention into leaves you it is natural to be disappointed or even angry. But you keep your own council. Complain to your team. Complain to your partner. Go hit a punching bag. The choice to make a public display is a poor one and I think if you asked Brian he'd probably tell you that he wished he kept his own council on the Yuna issue.

I don't think speaking the truth can be considered as badmouthing when certain skaters act like trash

Plushy is very honest sometimes and that's not bad. He always told the truth. I believe what he says. But I am convinced that journalists exaggerate a lot.

Yes. That is the Russian media. They want readers they want sensations all the time. Who follows him and read everything about him as you and me knows this.
