if young Sergei was so great the past couple years at TT why didn't he improve the technique you always complain about? He worked with all these kids. Gotcha!

There is a czech theatre commedy with a scene where one character shoots into the the sky and it is expected that a vulture falls down. But instead of vulture it's the bag full of tools which falls down (the bag is a running joke from the previous scenes). Now the characters on the stage have a hard time to explain the audience that the bag is in fact the vulture. And then, when they finally and with a lot of complications finish, the real vulture finally falls dawn, which is followed by a comment of the main character "now that will be slightly harder (to explain)."

That's how the "logic" works here, among other issues with a lot of contradictions like in the case of the "Rozanov files".

Which one is this?

The name is Africa (Afrika in czech), but it's untransferable into another language without knowing the background (czech history and the phenomenon of the fictive unacclaimed genius vearing the name Jára Cimrman). This is the scene time for "studying purposes", though without context.

Lol, sometimes I begin learning a new language and then get way too lazy. I miss out on things like this as payback. Thanks :thank:

More like Rozanov asked if he can come back and Dudakov explained why it's impossible...

I can't see where he would fit into Angels group. Maybe as a personal coach.

My mistake, I read it the opposite way

Tickets for the 1st stage of the Russian Cup (Syzran, with Anna, Zhenya and Ksenia) are already sold out. Arena has only about 800 places, but other years the tickets are even distributed for free :) ).

I guess there will be a livestream?

I'm tired of waiting. There've always been leaks, Daniil's program teasers, etc and now I've no idea what's going on. I do love following juniors, novices and drama: interviews, plots, shades and conspiracy theories, but in the end

I NEED MY SENIOR TEST SKATES, NOW!
:gaah::angry2:

Interesting, because I feel her PCS is among the worst. So much wrong with her skating. She looks like a skater without any strong foundation who will be a casualty of puberty. I know that sounds harsh, but I don't see her succeeding unfortunately unless she takes her skating to a new coach. Jumps are most important, but if you have poor basic skating, and stalk your jumps across the entire length of the ice, you're not going to get the marks.

Yeah, I also felt like she had pretty weak SS, she was noticeably slow, especially compared to other girls in the final group.
I think Fluture probably meant her expressions and performance factor. That was quite good, she tried her best to perform.

Just saw these comments. And yes, I did mean performance qualities. Watching the FS, I was kind of taken in by her expressions - it felt like she was the only one to give any and not just be totally focused on the technical aspects. Which was in contrast to the SP, for example, where I felt Akatieva especially was quite charming. I guess that‘s what made me overlook her other weaknesses. But I did rewatch her FS just now and I agree with you both, her skating skills are rather weak, sadly. She skates... small and yes, she‘s slow. I do think she has the innate performance factor, though, and skating skills can be worked on. Hope they will and not just focus on that quad.

Girls at the award ceremony! :-)

Never realized how tiny Veronika is! There’s less than a year difference between her and Sofia, they will go junior the same year, but even tiny looking Sofia looks so much taller and older than baby Veronika.

Sophia reminds me a lot of stasya a very tall and elegant.

Veronika they hit a big growth spurt in the next year or so.

Who is the other girl? EG student?

Sold out? How the hell can they have fans when every other sport in the world is playing in front of nobody?

Also I think people are being too critical of the performances of these pre Junior skaters. They had a very abnormal offseason and could not trained properly. I think they should be cut some major slack in the same for the seniors from test skates on.

Lol. It makes sense I guess.

but we have to be honest we all underestimated the value of young Sergei.if he had stayed at TT Sasha Veronika and Aliona might still be there too. But coaches have to move on and move up in the ranks just like regular working folks do. He had an opportunity and took it and if it works out and how can it not with Sasha Veronika and Aliona then his career will be made.

Yes.

I think we should note that there are multiple technicians. Rozanov worked closely With Aliona the last few seasons and that work almost completely corrected her lutz/flip edge. Now we can she has edge problems only when nervous or tired but comparing the lutz from the junior season to the senior season, there is notable improvement. We also know that Rozanov helped Sasha with her quads, and worked closely with her on her jumps at TT and she has some really solid technique as well.

On the other hand, when Shcherbakova first switched to Eteri, she was working with Dudakov and since she’s not mentioned Rozanov as far as I’m aware, she worked with him less.

Idk all the specifics but we do know at the very minimum that Rozanov is responsible for Sasha’s quads but not Anna’s and he’s responsible for Aliona’s technique fixes from last season.

Elizaveta Berestovskaya, CSKA student, Sergei Davydov's team.

I always had the impression that it was Dudakov who worked with Sasha on the quads the most. They seemed close and she always mentioned him.

At least here the critic is mainly on the skating. I did a walk earlier in some Russian forums and surprisingly saw the passion some were criticizing the dresses of 12-year-old kids. I thought I fell in a VIP forum with Versace, Donna Karen, Piere Gardin... It felt good in a way.

Sergei Dudakov is primarily responsible for Sasha's quads, but Rozanov did extra training with Dudakov and was involved with helping with her flip and Lutz (being with Dudakov whilst he was working with Sasha) so he knows how Sasha's technique works.

Let's look at Veronika Zhillina though. She was fully coached by Sergei Rozanov, and she had the best technique out of all the Tutberetzi pupils (of course historically Polina but out of current skaters). She was taught by him perfect triples, and then a 4T, 4S and 3A.

I'm pretty sure Veronika learned her triples from her mother who coached her before she moved to Eteri. She was only at Eteri's rink for about a year and she already had all her triples by the time she got there.

Oh my... I remember last year I read criticism towards costumes of novices as well.
I mean, I might not know how it works, but I feel like it’s okay not to have the best costume when you’re 11-12 and compete only domestically. Surely costume designers have different pricing when it comes to costumes, because they will differ in complexity. And novices in national team also won’t get as much funding as seniors.
So it would only make sense that they try to stay within their budgets.
