Gosh, I hope Lenko/Islam hang on to a medal here. Does anyone know if a bronze here combined with their silver in Lake Placid would be enough to get them into the JGP final? How many dance teams are in the final, anyways?
Yuki Nishino....? Has she already been in a JGP this season? If not, does anyone know her next assignment?

yay to Jinlin Guan and Chao Yang of China for medalingHope to see more of them in the future.
Isn't it the top 8 point earners that go to the JGP Final? So I suppose sometimes 2 silvers might be enough, and it really depends on the circumstances. If many teams earn 2 golds or a gold and a silver, it reduces chances for the others...
Kypma
Thanks, Kypma. I guess i'll just have to wait and see. I really do hope they make it. I think they have potential. Last season Kaitlyn Weaver/Andrew Poje (CAN) just missed the final, and they won two bronzes. On a different note, I read on the skate Canada website that Diane Smiett (sp?) (good for her, BTW, to move up from 14th after the short) landede a triple triple combo. Is this true? If it is, good for her, because other than Rochette, who's 3/3 hasn't made an appearance in 2 seasons, none of our other Sr. ladies can land those in competition.
The protocol did say Diane tried a triple toe - triple toe combo in the long but the second triple was deemed underrotated by the caller. It is nice to see that she went for it however. She did land 2 triple lutzes in the long as well.
Too bad she really bombed the short. She popped the loop into a single and fell on the lutz and the lutz was deemed underrotated.
FYI, I've reposted and replied to some of the informational posts above in the "JGP results/point standings" thread at: http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17437&page=2It is the top eight. You can see the leading contestants here: <snip>
Thanks for the info! Here's what 'Eislauffan' posted about the two Chinese pairs' short programs and free skates in Estonia:I read some review of the two Chinese pairs Huibo DONG / Yiming WU and Yue ZHANG / Lei WANG. Both have only started practicing pair skating since last year, but I heard Yue Zhang & Lei Wang are quite promising. They have mastered all big tricks such as th3Sal, Th3T. They will use 3T and 2A+2A+SEQ as sbs jumps. It's said their consistency is very good in practice. However it's hard to say how they will fare in this competition since they've never even competed before! Long program is 'Coppelia' . Keep an eye on this pair. A couple of pictures:

Huibo DONG / Yiming WU are not as good as Yue ZHANG / Lei WANG. Their sbs jumps are okay, but throws are inconsistent. Both girls are very young though. Bin Yao is coaching these two pairs with the help from an assistant coach.
Zhang/Wang 41.92 [SP score]
A medley of happy march music
2Tw, 3thT step out, Lasso one arm, 2A fall/she
Zhang/Wang 81.85 [FS score] – 123.77 [total score]
Ballettmusic, probably Coppelia
3T, 3thS step out, 2Tw, Lasso one armed, fccosp change out of sync, 2A^1A, 3thT nice, 3Li. A little rough around the edges but some good elements
Dong/Wu 43.59 [SP score]
Spente le Stelle (some modern arrangement)
2Tw, 2A good, 2thT, pcosp slow, lift shaky. Stiff overall. The coach of the Russian team Sheremetieva/Kuznetsov said that they were very strong in practice. So maybe they were too nervous!
Dong/Wu 73.02 [FS score] – 116.61 [total score]
Exodus
3T he stumbles w/both hands, she does 3T^2T, 2A nice, 2Tw, 3thS good, 2thT, Spiral she slips, 5Li shaky and she falls on the exit. They definitely can do much better than that.
