(Video) 2007 Canadian National Team Test (Vancouver)

I think every program for V and M is a joint effort of Marina Zueva and Igor Sphilband....Incidentally, Marina Zueva was the choreographer for most of Gordeeva and Grinkov's programs....

I have to agree their new FD to Cherbourg looked more disorganized and less thematic and reflective of the music than Valse Triste...but perhaps the magic will emerge with time and practice?

I think, that Cherbourg will be greate dance. And i think, thats its little bad, that all saw this dance, when all there regards didnt show there dances yet or (like D/W) showed only part for all internet users. They will perform this dance only at SC and have a .lot off time for working on "magic" and music accentes. And they will use another costumes.
Why nobody didnt say about there improving? They show all new liftes at FD and one at OD, show new very strong combination spin, new twizzle, wich was really strong/ That only they used new scarf in OD - wich looked very showy. Why you all didnt want say about good thinges, wich all can see and only sad about music, wich you maybe cant understaned?

I know. ;) and I'm just an old confused person remembering subtle masterpieces like "Moonlight Sonata" and "Vocalise" and trying to see the same here....

The first time I saw V/M was this past season when I happened to catch 4CC on TV. I had no idea who they were but I was immediately put in mind of Gordeeva and Grinkov. I yelled for my daughter to come and see - I had not been this mesmerized by any team since G/G. Even their costumes reminded me of G/G. Nothing over-the-top - simply elegant.

Having set such a high standard, I'm really looking forward to the development of their programs this year. So far I like what I've seen from the Canadian Camp but I must say I hate Tessa's FD dress. There's been Lots of discussion about that dress over at FSU. :)

Once of the nice things about having that test camp experience is that the judges have a chance to tell the skaters what's working and what isn't before the season begins. I have a feeling that dress won't be making an appearance once the season starts. :)

From you to the ears of the powers-that-be in management of such dress. :)

It's funny...I kind of liked the dress for its simplicity....As for Scott, looks like he kept the same wardrobe from last year's FD...You can tell he's very into fashion lol!

That dress is messing up their lines and is too distracting (like when it flew up over her face). A simple dress, perhaps with a shorter skirt, would work better.

Scott's costume is obviously not finished yet. As to whether he's into fashion, I wonder if being color-blind affects that? :)

I can't look at the videos as I am at work, but I took a look at the pictures. I was shocked when I saw Mira's boots. It looks like there is a bunch of white tape on them. How can someone show up for even a test event with their boots looking like that????Well, she also did this at Skate Canada 2006, slightly visible in a photo here, but it isn't as bad.

About Mira's boots, I found this article on canoe.ca (http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/FigureSkating/2007/03/20/3788982-cp.html) from just before Worlds, so Mira's boots might be from then, but could they really be that worn down? Skaters usually break in their skates around July I think, and normally keep them till Nationals around January... could Mira's boots have deteriorated in such a short amount of time?

NEW SKATES: Mira Leung has been breaking in a new pair of skates, which are feeling more and more comfortable as she heads towards the first phase of women's competition - the short program Friday.

The 17-year-old Vancouver skater, like the other world-class athletes in the sport, use custom-fitted boots and specialty blades. It would cost Leung about $1,500 for the skates. If they help her improve on her 13th-place showing of 2006, it'll be money well spent.

The last sentence is kind of ironic, for lack of a better word, because breaking in her new boots caused tenodonitis in her left heel, which was the stated reason for her poor performance at Worlds.
