It's funny. Has anyone felt as I did, because I've always felt that Joubert gets severely undermarked by the judges. After all, if the article is correct, he completed one quad and 7 triples, which I don't think is quite how much Lambiel did for instance, so why should he have been placed third and get ciritized for a supposedly terrible perforamce? I felt the same about this olympic perforamces as well becuase I don't think he fell once either in his long or his short. He just had a few stumbles that he checked so he didn't fall on his butt, so what is going on here?
He fell in his Olympic LP in addition to 4 other mistakes. It wasn't horrible, though, considering he attempted the hardest jump layout of anyone at the Olympics.
Anyway, Joubert's jumps at Worlds were strong but not his best (turned second Quad into a Triple, turned 3Sal into a double axel). His spins were watered down, his footwork was not nearly as great as what Takahashi and Lambiel produced, and his performance as a whole was not inspired. His SP did not make up for that, especially since Takahashi was under-marked in the SP in the first place.
Lambiel did three quads

Did Daisuke get some extra points inthe "Other International Competitions" category?
Yes.
Why do I have a feeling that the athletes will be pocketing less than the full bonus?
It's always like that. No athlete or actor ever gets the full paycheck. The "handlers" will take their cut.
