Here returning after the censorship of the bots ... Very satisfied with the return of the empress, however, today there was no 100% justice.

I will only say one thing, it is totally unfair what happened with Trusova today, how is it possible that the judges have overscored her so much giving her 66 points of PCS when she fell 4 times and made several errors in the transitions. Enough of the Plu... bonus ...! What do you think girls like Nugumanova or Kiibus think when they see how they with a clean skating are below her in PCS.
I don't feel a problem personally with the score, but considering recent Plushy's outraged "fight for justice" I say this is why the coach has to remain silent, because sooner or later his own words will inevitably turn against him.

...anyways...did y'all see the spiky sleeves? i thought the spiky sleeves were lovely.
Did I imagine it or did Sasha briefly get entangled with the spikes just before the start of her step sequence? There was some awkward hesitation there. I wanted to comment on it in the competition thread but forgot among all the drama that followed. Now I'm not brave enough to go and rewatch her FP to check.

Steps and sequences at highest level define a skater's 'quality' more than jumps, but are actually harder to achieve.
One thing I don't understand, stepping and spinning requires concentration and determination over strength and endurance?
I can imagine a skater losing jumping prowess during off season, but not innate skating skills. But then, perhaps jumping in your bedroom or hallway during quarantine, makes you loose the feeling of 'sliding', as both Anna and Kamila have said in their interviews.

Well, i guess i will just watch Liza's skate. That must be her best free program since 2019 WTT.
That's how you show that you're still in the game.

Apparently, Trusova was 2017 worlds Anna pogorilaya's level or worse, Alena Leonova 2016 GP France. Incredible.
I don't want to see that. I'll just rewatch her 4th stage free skate. Davai Sasha. You will do better next time.

Kostornaya probably had jumps with 0 flow out to get them reviewed and called. Why is she struggling with spins and step seq?

Congrats to Guliakova for her bronze and Nugumanova for her not so bad results for her 1st GP.
I think it's because she doesn't have the energy and I think she is still learnig the FS ... it's like she is still thinking about the steps

I think endurance has to be there .. no matter how good you are if you don't have the energy for doing a stepping or a spinning you will loose in concentration too.. for example doing an exam after a night out .. you could answer the questions but isn't the same thing if you got a good night sleep

I don't think Sasha was injured before the FP. If she was, I'm sure her coaches wouldn't have let her jump 4 quads or at least I would hope so.
I think changing the costume and the spikes gimmick was a big mistake. It adds pressure of having one more thing to worry about on top of the already difficult layout. And it really adds nothing to the program and it was very distracting.
Everything that could go wrong with this program really went wrong.

I take off my hat to Liza. She really said "that gold is mine" after Sasha's meltdown. She gave it everything she had and it was such a pleasure to watch that skate. Well deserved standing ovation.
After Aliona's skate I was ready to throw something if the judges gave the gold to her over Liza going by PCS alone, but I'm glad they didn't.

Aliona wasn't as inspired today and she really needs to check that step sequence because she keeps losing levels.
I guess this adds more pressure for her to get the 3A back, considering she will face both Kamila and Liza with 3A in two weeks at the fifth stage of the cup.

Press quotes Trusova again: " I don't know why this happened " which she also said yesterday.

Tuktamysheva: " Long time not won anything, I am in shock " :)

Kostornaya: " I am upset, but I got what I skated for. I am very happy for Tuktamysheva "

Gulyakova: " I didn't really expect this, but fought till the end and I am pleased I made top three "

I leave all the babbling of Bestemyanova and Zhulin to those who have appetite for their utterances.

Ok, I went back after all and now I get it: she is raising the spiky bits on her sleeves. :jaw: Nice detail, but it was a bit disruptive to the program, especially since she was behind the music. See here:

Trusova's skate was a splatfest. Whose idea was it to put spikes on her shoulder?

Kostornaia has lovely arms and gorgeous skating skills. That dress needs to go, that hairstyle needs to go (it's the hairstyle of a suburban Midwestern middle-aged SAHM), and SLB needs to rework that LP. I'm shocked that SLB choreographed such a generic LP, for Kostornaia no less.
