You are watching figure skating during the pandemics, trying to exempt all the questionable performances around the world, caused of course by COVID, and then you will see Anastasya Gubanova in local competetion, who was not even trying to perform at Russian Cup to qualify to Russian Championship, doing this:
Thank you for the video. Nastya looked really good for not skating competitively in 10 months. She kept your SP from last season and why not?

What did the lady's score in thie SP competition? Gubanova scored 70.59. I don't know if that's a fair score or scored too low but the saint petersburg-based ladies are always scored low.

I don't see it what am I missing?

Surprised and very happy to see Anastasia Gubanova back in action! She is a sentimental favourite of mine, I was really worried when she withdrew from the Russian Cup series...happy to see her doing well! :cheer:
I'm happy to see her too it's long overdue. Was Nastya invited to the Russian cup series and withdrew or was she just not invited? That would be hard to believe if she wasn't even invited. But maybe not so hard to believe with the way she's been treated by the federation in her in her career.

Nastya won this competition last year so she must feel good skating in this event. I have to think her SP was better than last years in this event. NG looks a bit sleeker and quicker than last season. I would be intrested in comparing the score from last year to this year.

How did Stasya do and Sofia and Guliakova as well?

It was a good score. She had the exact same jump layout as Samodurova but beat her with almost 3 points. Then she lost those points against Sofia on levels on the spins. This tech panel seemed to be extra harsh with levels today. PCS wise she matched Sofia, which is good considering Sofia has the reputation nowadays.
I would say that Gubanova is still the front runner in the group of skaters like Tsibinova, Samodurova, Guliakova, Frolova, Tarakanova, Nugumanova and Shulskaya. This group scores around 190-200 points and are the second tier of Russian Ladies.

That's the thing. I don't think anyone knows. I remember earlier this season there was some local competition in Sankt Petersburg (Konstantinova won) and Gubanova was supposed to be there but she withdrew. Maybe she was sick, maybe she got injured. Perhaps that's why she never showed up at the Russian Cup.

Konstantinova and Guliakova didn't compete in this event today. I can't find the results from last year, sorry.

Nastia seems a little sleeker and quicker this year than last year.

I would say your assessment of these group of girls you named was fair but harsh. It's got to be hard on them to know no matter how well they do they're going to have a hard time breaking 200. I'm mean when was the last time sofia European champion less than 2 years ago broke 200 points? If TT girls can routinely score 240 to 260 it wouldn't be the end of the world to put the Saint Petersburg girls over 200 once in a while. I mean the low scores little Liza gets are ridiculous.

Nastya scored her highest score ever about 215 points to easily win this competition last year. She will have a hard time breaking 200 even with a quality free skate. I did like her SP dress more than last year's SP dress. I want to watch her SP from last year in the Saint Petersburg cup and see what are score was compared to this year when at 1st look I would say this year's SP with the same music was better than last year's.

Hooray Guby is back :jump:
While it's a pity we don't get to see her much this year, if there's a season to take it easy, this is it.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing how her free goes. Good luck SPb girls :D

Looks like Akatieva is no longer in the junior ladies category for the Moscow Championships.
I've mentioned in the competitive thread already, 28 KMS girls, while here only 23 in the live rusults, maybe it's only because the list is not complete. Even the results today weren't exactly "live" (it's provided by CSKA after all ). We will see tomorrow, as for Sofia she posted a picture from training today, so I suppose she should be OK.
