Same here. When I was watching her gala performance at Rostelecom Cup (youtube), I was thinking, well, she still had almost everything, and if a 3A and a quad were inserted, I would be watching an Olympics program.
Of course it would be a big decision for her to make, come back or not, and this is just a "selfish" thought from a fan like me (and many others, I guess).
But the most important thing - she's having a wonderful 2020, and we fans are happy! Thank Alina for so many treats she gave us this year!

She really made this year better for her fans. The kindest thing I can say about this year is that it has been a beast. And it's entirely possible 2021 is sharpening it's fangs
But at least once a week there would an Alina moment. Even if we were rolling our eyes at some of the dresses and make-up it was still fun! And most importantly (for me) she looked happy and healthy. That's a lot!

I don't think injury is the case in Alina's decision (at least this the conventional side of the story). But who knows right. We take that she lost her motivation and move on.

I counted there were 15 windmills at the start and 10 at the end of Alina ice age program.I cant understand what use were they in the choreo.
Neither Alina did. If you watch the video of how this program was done in an evening. When Averbuch was explaining that windmills she didn't even want to do it (getting it). My impression at least. Also from that video, most of the other parts are Alina's improvisations. Maybe Averbuch had some kind of concept with them that didn't get realized well or didn't match with the rest of the program.

Alina did great job as a host in Ice Age, but after seeing her performance, I have to say, figure skating is definitely her life, her fate. Eteri once said, Alina looks more beautiful when she skates. That's true. This performance really reminds me of her competitive time, so strong and dedicated.

One of the things I loved most about Ice Age was seeing how supportive everyone was to Alina on this new endeavor. It was like they were growing together on the journey in different ways. I love seeing them still support her. I hope she made some friends for life -

I don't think she is injured either. I just think that she might avoid becoming injured in the future if she continues down the path she is on now.
Mirai Nagasu wanted to continue to pursue her Olympic dream after she didn't medal in Vancouver. What she accomplished was incredible. Learning a triple axel after being written off by your own federation is just amazing. She made it to the Olympics, landed that 3A when it counted the most and I couldn't be happier for her getting that team bronze.
Mirai has also undergone two major surgeries to repair the damage she sustained from training that triple axel. As an athlete I imagine it was worth it to her.
I'm not saying this is destined to be Alina's fate if she tries to comeback for the Olympics. She is younger than Mirai. The same age as Adelina and Zhenya during their Olympic seasons. Taking this season off from serious training might have worked in her favor in terms of preventing injuries. I am not saying that injuries can't be rehabilitated and don't heal but timing can be crucial.
I'm just saying that having already achieved her dream of Olympic & World Gold, Alina can follow her heart. Without a sense of something left undone.
As for motivation, when you miss something by a mile you can say 'oh well, it was never going to happen'. When you miss something by a fraction - Mirai's 4th place finish in Vancouver - that is a hell of a motivation. When you already gave everything you had and lived your dream and are living it still.... that's another story. Only Alina can write it.
I'm just glad her dreams came true. She wanted a dog. She wanted to help give her family a better life. She wanted her family with her in Moscow. It took three years but she got all that she hoped for. Now it's time for more dreams. If one more shot at the Olympics is on the list then I am here for it!

It's great to see Alina happy. I get the impression that she has moved on and will focus on shows and a tv career (although I would love to see her compete again, I can understand if she thinks the endeavour isn't worth it considering she would have to train so hard and already has a gold medal unlike Zhenya who will probably always feel that void)
