Apparently it's been officially confirmed that Worlds 2021 will go ahead. I can't provide a link, but I've read it now multiple times on instagram.
I wouldn’t be that sure, being honest... simply because they said the same thing about GPF, although all signs were showing that there were major issues, which won’t allow to make it happen.
A lot of European countries are going/planning to go into full lockdown up until April, so how Sweden will be able to hold a world championship, when even making GPF happen with a lot less participants was not possible, is a big question mark for me.
With the new UK variant spreading across Europe, things are becoming an even bigger question mark.
Let’s see how it goes, but I think we’ll hear what’s the status when they’ll hold their meeting in January.

Always with the negative vawes

Wasn't there supposed to be an ISU meeting the 20th discussing Worlds? I think that some federations might want to cancel as they feel they haven't been able to prepare for Worlds (e.g. Canada?)

I've been checking the Swedish Federation's and Globen Arena's sites and it seems, for now, that Worlds is still on.

However, here in Stockholm, the restrictions have been tightened lately. Still max 50 people gatherings, and max 1 person per every 10 square meters. Restaurant's can't serve alcohol after 20.00 until 15th of January but that is likely to be extended longer.

If they go through with it, there will probably be no audience. Although Globen Arena is huge, it's the gatherings to and from the arena that is the problem.

I am still hopeful, but much depends on how the COV situation develops January and February.

I'm not gonna go into details but I actually think it's a good thing she's not getting one of those cottages. Now she can focus on things that have real value in life.

Or did you mean no more cottage cheese for her...? 🤔 It's the most boring cheese, why people enjoy that stuff 😶
I meant Cottage of course. I may have cottage cheese for breakfast this morning. Put it on toast with a little Herbs of Provence seasoning on top and it's fantastic. Healthier than waffles and sausage and that's my plan B for breakfast this morning. ;)

Hopefully we will learn more about Stasya I'm leaving PA before the season is even over. I mean she was spectacular in the Swan Lake production recently so it can't be that.

whoever made them sign NDA is not really creative. Why is she saying the same exact reason as Katja Ryabova word to word?

Actually on the part of the skaters its quite smart to say pretty much verbatim statements because it's a huge indicator that its canned statement and that likely the real reason they left is protected by an NDA. If they are being made to sign an NDA that prevents them from disclosing to the media why they left or anything besides a fluff statement then they should start arguing for the agreement to be two-sided and the coach they are departing is held to the same.

I am not here defending Luxus Culture but having a nice pmace to stay and calm down after a day of hard work IS a real value in life in my opinion

R-Sport provided us with the list of participants of the team event Russia in planning to hold in February.

they intend to have top 6 men and women, 4 pairs and 4 ice dance pairs, and divide them up into some teams.

Frankly speaking, the fact that they’re planning this event AND cup final in February makes me think that worlds might not happen even more.
skaters might be exhausted competing 2 times prior to worlds. Except if they make cup final an optional competition.

Weren't they also planning a Europeans alternative too? Or is that this competition? I'M exhausted thinking of the amount of competitions.

They're planning to include Dasha and Kamila. So surely it is presumed here that these two are not travelling to Krasnoyarsk a week earlier (Junior Nationals)

Yeah, that one too! And international junior competition they were planning...
im not sure, but that’s a lot of competitions to attend for some skaters!
Most of them probably need this time to heal in full to prepare for worlds.

I don't want to be too critical, but I think Rusfed has a bit of a hero complex about being really the only federation holding competitions and i hope they're not overloading their athletes.

If there is just Cup Final and some team event what overload are we talking about? No GPs, no Bs. Tuktamysheva used to have 7-8 competitions per season. I think that it's a good decision from the Fed to give the top skaters 2 more events this season.

And yes, I don't believe that WC is going to take place. We hear in the news that Sweden tightens their coronavirus controls.

Junior Nationals is much more important than some recently created non-traditional event. Both of those girls should be competing at junior nats. But whatever.

Agreed.

I hope some of the top skaters skip this meaningless event. Can you imagine getting injured at this a year from the Olympics? Or God forbid sick again with Coronavirus?

But I think Dasha and Kami will probably go to this team thing instead. First of all it's a senior competition, which help push the narrative that they are not juniors anymore. Second of all, they can go up against Anna, Sasha, Liza, Alyona once more. If Kami (or Dasha somehow) manages to come up on top, that would be much more impactful than her winning junior nats against 13 year olds (though honestly I think it might be more difficult for Kami to hold her own in the junior field...)

Junior Nationals doesn't really mean much for them at this point.
Kamila, Daria and Maiia will all turn 15 in just a few months. In Russia they're already treated as seniors and it makes sense since international junior competitions are not happening anyway and they will already be able to compete as seniors internationally next season.
