this thread requires cleansing from time to time; since we can't use Ayurveda here, we can use the next best thing from India - Bollywood:

Akatieva is a novice, though she's 13 and a half years old.Is Akatieva not a novice? I'm so confused about all these girls' ages![]()
Also, does anyone know when the last (2?) stages of the Russian cup are scheduled to take place/when the hypothetical World team would be decided?
Samodelkina (February 2007) and Petrosyan (June 2007) are already junior eligible internationally (or would have been if the competitions happened) so they can move up to seniors in the post-Olympic season. So Akatieva and Zhilina would both be first year Juniors next year if there's a jgp circuit and what not? What about Samodelkina and Petrosyan? Are they all in their last year as novices?
Thank youBecause comparing the girls to Nathan and Hanyu fits their narrative vs. If the girls were compared to some of the other guys.

Oookay thanks for clarifying!Samodelkina (February 2007) and Petrosyan (June 2007) are already junior eligible internationally (or would have been if the competitions happened) so they can move up to seniors in the post-Olympic season.
Akatyeva (July 2007) and Zhilina (May 2008) will be eligible for the first time next season. They can move to seniors in 2023-24 at the earliest.
The Russian Cup Final is 23-27 February in Veliky Novgorod. I guess the World team will be decided after that.Is Akatieva not a novice? I'm so confused about all these girls' ages

I doubt Anna will be there, she doesn't have to be and why risk a loss? I doubt Medvedeva will be there too - how could she be in the final if she wasn't in any of the stages? She says she's doing better but probably still doesn't have all her jumps back yet either. They have made exceptions in the past, as I recall Anna joined the final in 2018 even though she wasn't in any of the qualifiers.Thank youI doubt Anna will be there, she doesn't have to be and why risk a loss? Yes, and they did invite Medvedeva and Sinitsyna to Nationals even though they never did any group stages. I expect that invitation will still be valid. They have made exceptions in the past, as I recall Anna joined the final in 2018 even though she wasn't in any of the qualifiers.

Alena Kostornaia says in her new instagram post that she has a completely new long program. Also from Shae-Lynn.
Maybe by vote? Zagitova will be there too.Thank youI doubt Anna will be there, she doesn't have to be and why risk a loss?
