TBH I think it's BS both the rules that junior ladies can't do a 3A in the SP and that ladies in general can't do quads in the SP. It's very sexist! People will tell you that it's "to preserve their bodies" but how are you preserving them by pushing them to do 3A-3T instead of 3A, and to add multiple quads in the FS when they can sort of split it a bit between SP and FS. I'm kinda pissed.

The 3a+3t was a loophole that the ISU probably hadn't ever considered.

Yes, I'm aware of it. But skaters shouldn't have to look for loopholes. 😅

Moving forward, new language should be considered, as well as new rules. :)

On another note, I think Veronika Zhilina has a remarkable potential, and I just hope that she will unlock it all one day. Not convinced that will happen, but I'd love to see it.

Well said. The truth. I guess they think by raising the age limit minimum to 17 that they will be preserving their bodies. I'm not so sure because even raising the age limit isn't going to stop all of these Sofia's from doing quads and triple axels when they were 11 or 12. It's how they get attention it's how they get famous.

Why are the scores so low at Junior Nationals compare to senior Nationals? There must have been a directive or something to keep please top Junior girls down & the Juniors of an ice skate at senior Nationals in December do you know they're going to be held down big-time with the Olympics a month away.

the required elements and number of elements are different than senior. junior level skaters also do not always skate with the same PCS level as seniors, with the exception of skaters like Kamila.

Muravyeva is like a smol Usacheva.

I'd like to see more upper body movement and facial expression from Akatieva. she was very one tone the whole skate, although her skating skills and posture are really nice.

Petrosyan was my favorite. she is the most fully packaged of them all to me- spins, jumps, expression, skating skills. she is exciting to watch.

all these ladies have a really bright future.

Samo didn't
Wow, Adelia, what a performance!!!
Sofia Akatieva can do much better than that, but good job with winning her first junior national gold!
Sad about Samodelkina, I would have had her higher than Muravyova.
Quite an unexpected podium!
What Samo didn't make the podium again? Didn't she just make one mistake in the free skate and she has Ultra so jumps Sofyav M doesnt?

I think she got pinched in the free skate and then skating first in the last group is never beneficial.

I also think someone who skates a Clean Program without the ultra jumps should not beat someone who has the ultra jumps who makes one mistake. I mean can you imagine aliona without her 3A beating Sasha or Anna who make maybe one mistake? It wouldn't happen but it happened here with the Juniors.

On a positive note even without KV Dasha and Maya the depth of the Russian Junior ladies is amazing.

Congratulations to the Medalists.

I agree with most of this, not sure about Petrosyan being the full package though. The jumps look quite small to me, Idk if she has ultra-C jump potential. Maybe it's just because she's so tiny? I think growing will either greatly improve her or completely take her out of the running. She was my favorite performance of the day still, followed by Muravyeva.
