I would agree with your angle about how Veronika should be challenging Sofia the way Sofia did KV last season. So much talent in VZ. will it ever be realized?

Two competitions under the 200 marks in a row. I was sure she would be at least among the top 5 for the nationals but she‘s obviously struggling. She’s beautiful to watch, I´m sure she will redeem herself next time if she skates clean. Maybe she should return to Sergei and ask her mother to stop meddling, this is a waste of her talent.

If I was one of them I will go in to the Olympic season with the mentality of just doing my best.

If you look at Rhythmic Gymnastics in 2016, Rita have always come second to Yana, but on that night, her consistency was valued in a different way. Yana was great, in fact better in all three other routines, but she made one mistake, and the gold went to Rita, who was gave her all. I remember they were good friends too, and afterwards Yana took it very well. I think no doubt, Yana would have wanted that gold medal very badly, but at the end of the day, it was an Olympic silver, and it was good.

A bit like for Zhenya when Alina took the gold. But I think Zhenya was more happy getting that bronze in 2019, it probably meant much more to her.

It is very possible Kamila takes that olympic gold next year. But I think in the years to come, we will see some surprises. A girl who is may be not as extraordinarily talented but works very hard, who is quiet, but improves steadily, that one day, the gold will go to her. Whoever that girl is, she will be remembered, for her kindness, and hard work.

I still think the short programs for Daria/Kami/Maiia are really good. Some of the best programs this season in any discipline.

Thanks, @Giltedge! Yeah, I had heard ahead of time that she'd be attempting it, but I would have been pretty shocked, too, if I hadn't.

I am glad at least that Maiia looked happy after her skate she landed everything despite the intitial fall

Well, it was totally unexpected but refreshing and Maia did a good job. Alena did the same mistake during the nationals two years ago.

I don't think you can compare Rita and Yana to Alina and Zhenya. Yana made a mistake, Rita didn't, and the gold went to Rita. Zhenya gave her all and skated the best she could but was still beaten by Alina. That is a huge difference psychologically speaking.

Out of the ladies I'd agree that it was just top tier quality (I still prefer Alyona's and Rika's because they have better height and distance, but the rotation on Kamila's was outstanding). But comparing it to the mens... I mean maybe some of the men but the top quality men (aka Yuzu and Misha, Boyang's is okay but not perfect) are on a completely different level.

Let me clarify: I enjoyed it and loved it as much as the skaters I mentioned. I do recognise the difference and quality, it's just how I feel about this particular 3A I saw today.

I don't think the twelve-year-old girl is going to go to road mother and say I want to go back to young Sergei. Maybe the father can intervene and help out. But the mother will just say look what young sergei has not done for Alion this season. Whatever happens Veronika has to do better no matter who's coaching her.

I can definitely see why they won't keep Kamila's SP for the next season. It cannot accommodate the 3A without disrupting the original choreography, which was superior, especially the first spin.

But I don't see why they couldn't change a few parts of it. I mean if they had the ability to just change Anna's music or Kamila/Daria/Maiia's SPs for their first junior season I'm sure they can do it for this program.

What we like most about Anna is how she just does her work never causes a commotion and has gotten better the last few years every season. How much better can she get that is the question?

Why Rozanov though?
I agree Veronika needs a change but I'm not sure him in particular would be the solution to her problems.
I don't know if it's nerves but whatever the problem is it's definitely in her head.

Honestly, I don't see the point for changing the choreography, at least not for the current season. The first and most important thing is for Kamila to stabilize the 3A, which is what they are doing so far. I also think that is always more difficult to adjust a program with new choreographical elements, when the original was that good..because it will just keep feeling as if it is lacking something.
