What do you all think of Sasha's FS costume? I know some people think the back is "spidery" and ugly, but I like it!

I really like it. I think the pink at the bottom looks really nice and it moves really niceWhat do you all think of Sasha's FS costume? I know some people think the back is "spidery" and ugly, but I like it!
Haha...I have mixed feelings. I thought the design was cool but it has nothing to do with the program...What do you all think of Sasha's FS costume? I know some people think the back is "spidery" and ugly, but I like it!
Okay, you're right Plush vs. Yags could get too intense and awkward.Unlike the two team leaders this year who at worse said a few phrases slightly lacking in grace when exhausted, those two might really do or say things that might warrant true scrutiny. I would be worried anytime they opened their mouths. For me, the most troubling things said and done at this event ( other than a disregard for the existence of COVID) didn't come from the team captains but from Yagudin who was frankly insulting toward some of the male skaters when they were already obviously upset. Moskvina and Mishin would be wonderful team leaders imho.
I think a more interesting international competition would be something like that have at the Youth Olympics where athletes from different countries are randomly assigned to different teams. I think someone mentioned this in the competition thread. It's a great idea. Such a competition is fun, but not too overly serious.
I agree it has nothing to with the program but how many faux Renaissance dresses do we need hahaHaha...I have mixed feelings. I thought the design was cool but it has nothing to do with the program...
Maria always had the best costumes, I agree. I don't like Valieva's or Rika's leggings. The upper portion of their costumes are beautiful. I hope changes are made.(Gotta jump in to this tights chat to get away from the drama chat...)
I must say - I don't even mind Kamila's FS costume this season (though I prefer tights either fully cover boots or fully tucked in). At least it looks delicate, perhaps with some careful designs...And most importantly - those black tights aren't fully black but somewhat transparent - so you still get to see the leg lines a bit, and also distinguish the tights from the dress.
Rika on the other hand...oh Rika...those fully black tights looks like training leggings...The leggins blend into the top, but still leaves a bunch of black strips dangling (the skirt part)...I saw somewhere that they designed it like that because she's doing a cartwheel? But I don't get the connection there. Her FS costume also looks junior-ish and a bit unfinished to me. Perhaps it has to do with lack of time.
Speaking of costume taste, the Russian lady that came to my mind was Maria Sotskova. She always had unique yet fitting designs, starting with her Vivaldi Winter program, Breakfast at Tiffany's, R&J, the blue butterfly dress (forgot program name)...very bold and thoughtful costumes!
Canada vs US cup that's Borser vs Brian BoitanoOkay, you're right Plush vs. Yags could get too intense and awkward.
Moskvina and Mishin? Not sure about that. How about Yulia Lipnitskaya vs Adelina Sotnikova?
We're moving away from the drama. Right now. By talking about tights.
Zhilina's are different, they're still nude just sparkly. I'm talking about Rika's and Kamila's and all of Sasha's costumes before this season. I saw some similar ones in the novice Russian competition too. Does that big costume designer in Russia think jumpsuits arent ladylike or something? And Rika is desperate to compete with the Russian ladies, so she thinks if she dresses up like one the judges will mix her up?
I guess I don't mind Kamila's as much because at least the tights blends with the overall costume. Rika's looks like they had her costume made then just threw some random tights over it. And now they've announced she's keeping that program for the Olympics. Imagine if she showed up to world's or Olympics with that. I'd cry.(Gotta jump in to this tights chat to get away from the drama chat...)

I love the back and bottom of the dress a lot! I like the concept of it being black but the texture of the front part of the dress looks not quite right to me. The way the bottom swings with her skating is really pretty though. What do you all think of Sasha's FS costume? I know some people think the back is "spidery" and ugly, but I like it!
Well, not necessarily faux Renaissance, especially when she chose the soundtrack from the 1996 version.I agree it has nothing to with the program but how many faux Renaissance dresses do we need haha
I think thats the point - the mood is comfy, not necessarily classy. I definitely preferred leggings that way in practice too, it's just not so refined for competition.I love and always have loved over the boot tights. I also like skating in comfy pants where all I can see is just the toes of my skates. It’s a mood!!!
Yep, don't like the spider back at all. Not necessarily the entire concept of such a back, but I don't think it works, either with that specific costume, or her as a perform. I just know it doesn't really work, in my opinion. What do you all think of Sasha's FS costume? I know some people think the back is "spidery" and ugly, but I like it!
Yeah I feel that. For me classy and simple go hand in hand. One of my favorite competition dresses was Gubanova’s Summertime Blue Dress. I couldn’t believe the amount of criticism it received. For me it’s the definition of a classy look that avoids looking cluttered or too glitzy. Look nice but leave plenty of room for your skating to be center stage.I think thats the point - the mood is comfy, not necessarily classy. I like her new SP dress. (I prefer the green one as a dress, but I agree the pink one suits the program better)Ther's something a little off on the front of her SP dress too, no? The way it kind of twists in weird spot?
I like it but I prefer the green SP dress. That one was just exquisite. There's this weird patch on the side where like there are just a bunch of pieces kind of sewed in lines? I don't know how to describe it. It's not a bad dress by any means, it actually looks very pretty when she jumps, but I agree that it's kind of odd.Ther's something a little off on the front of her SP dress too, no?
