I vote Urmanov, he appears to avoid drama and he did some nice things with Lipnitskaia's skating for the limited time he had her.

Eteri doesn't really have time to be dealing with Aliona and her injuries at the moment so I'm not sure Aliona will be any happier than the last time she was there. Sounds like she might retire if Eteri doesn't take her if it's true she's already left Plushenko...

Oh I 100% think it was her choice. Who do you think forced the decision? SHE left Plushy and SHE approached Eteri.

Now, do I think there are external factors and doubts at work? Of course - she's had a subpar year, been injuried and ill, and can't get her jumps back - but she's still the one who decided to leave and approached Eteri...
 
The main difference between Medvedeva and Kostornaia is that Evgenia basically had to pick another coach, preferably in Russia. Eteri was a surprising choice, but Evgenia is familiar with her methods and it seems that they had a close bond. If not for border closures and domestic events, Evgenia probably would have stayed.

Meanwhile for Aliona it's definitely dissatisfaction with Plushenko's training methods, as she is already leaving his school not even after season has ended. Overall I think her situation is a much bigger mess right now.

Her season was over as she's not going to Worlds
 
Coaches work for the skaters, not the other way around. If skaters wouldn't want to be coached by someone, these coaches would be unemployed. Apologizing for what? This is ridiculous :palmf: I can't believe people actually think that skaters are owned by coaches....

In some cultures, teachers are actually respected and appreciated. And not showing respect would make them not teach you, actually.

Alina at least has an OGM, a World's gold medal, a RusNats championship title, and a Junior World's gold medal...

With Alina she was forced to stay - and they needed her to stay at least until the 3A turned senior. With Aliona, I think she wants to - it's just a matter of if she can - it's closer to an Evgenia situation. Also they don't need her at all. They could have USED her at her peak this year but they don't NEED. Anna and Sasha can keep the spots all by themselves and will medal unless things are catastrophic and they completely forget how to jump. And they DEFINITELY don't NEED her next year.

Lol not in Russia..

There you audition for schools and to be admitted into a coaches program. And there while you can leave you can just as easily be dismissed.

And there coaching is viewed as a mentorship and a hierarchy.
 
Well everybody forget that Eteri, the same Alena is begging to take her now, is the one who tried to hold her back before she left. Eteri perfectly knew that when her girls left, they will lose something.

The thing is, she didnt extend that courtesy to Eteri. It can only help her case with her since plushy wasnt prefered and aliona just gave plushy the thumbs down eteri wish she could give him for all the poaching, etc. Lolz. Anyway, i hope eteri takes her back. She will slay with her, i have a feeling. Having acquired new perspectives and appreciation will only help her. i still prefer her skating out of all the russian girls. Charisma cant be bought.

I tend not to believe them, but then again, the news about Kostornaia came from Rodina reporting it first, of all people. The least trustworthy source, and she knew for sure.
So anything can happen.

Nope, I heard it’s very difficult to enter the Eteri’s group. So it’s the coach who choses the skaters.
