How to watch the upcoming worlds?

Jackie Wong just tweeted that practice streams would only be available to accredited media, and that he will be live tweeting competition day practices beginning Wednesday.
I am, on the whole, very supportive of the ISU regarding these championships (yes, I know, shame shame shame on me for not worrying about the safety of the skaters.). But this just annoys me. If you *have* a stream, why not share it with the fans? It's not like it hasn't been done before, and attending fans are almost always allowed to see the practices, so it's not like it's "secret" or anything. Or if this one of those "let's make money where we still can", by selling the practice stream rights to a Japanese channel that can pay handsomely? I mean, I could understand if it were, but it doesn't say that, so... *shrug*

agree... if they/who? are filming why doesn't ISU share it.. for the benefit of the sport, keeping dedicated fans happy???

Hey MaiKatze, guess what? I just discovered that I have access to ONE, too.

I never paid any attention to it, but then I read a comment (in this topic?) that referred to the ARD, and that made me take notice. I thought maybe I’d misunderstood, and the ARD would air it instead. So I just checked my TV channels in search of the German channels (which we have a fair few of), and to my surprise came across a channel called ONE HD, too.

Only now do I understand it’s part of the ARD, but not the same channel. ☺️

So, for all viewers in the regions NEAR Germany: be sure to check your TV channels if you don’t wanna depend on the Eurosport Player and/or Eurosport 1/2 HD (the TV channels’ broadcast may cut all SPs short).

Chances are if you have always had access to the ARD, you also have access to ONE HD. 🥳
ONE is a subchannel of Das Erste/ARD. They also stream Worlds on sportschau.de

Until you realize that Eurosport 1 doesn’t actually air the last one/two groups of the afternoon events.
Then the decision is made for you. ;-)

btw also, isn’t Eurosport 1 in HD in Germany?!
Not for me. I think you need to pay extra if you want HD. And streaming Eurosport over the player never reaches HD quality here for some reason.

Ah, thanks!
Indeed, I checked out sportschau.de the other day, too, and downloaded the accompanying app for the streams. It never hurts to have an easily accessibly back back back-up stream. ;-)

Eurosport 1 and 2 have been HD here for many years, that’s why I was so surprised. Shame you cannot get it or the stream in HD. Then ONE seems a good alternative.

Just added Eurosport Deutschland to my schedule post, and talk about a hard to use listings page on the eurosport.de website! Not only can you not see both channels at the same time, but you can't see the whole day in one go! There are separate tabs for each channel, and each day is split into separate tabs for Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Night!

Why, oh why, can they not go back to having one page for each day, with the 2 channels side by side?! Because having 8 tabs for each day is beyond ridiculous!

If all the Eurosport websites are like this, it is going to take until the next World Championships to do all the versions!

Don't worry, I'm not going to add a new post every time I add a new version of Eurosport to my TV Schedule post. But, I just wanted to say that the listings page on the eurosport.fr website is a LOT more user friendly than the listings page one the eurosport.de wesbite.

Although the French listings page does not have the schedules for the 2 linear channels side by side like I would prefer, I do like the way that it is identical to the listings page on Eurosport Player. And that, as such, it includes all the extra streams that are on the Player.

I've often thought it would make everything a lot simpler for the staff as well as the viewers if the same page layout was used in all countries for both the Eurosport website and the Eurosport Player. So, well done to the French for thinking like that too!  :points:

It'll be interesting to see what the other countries are doing...

I did notice a mistake, though. According to the French listings, the times for the LIVE coverage of the Gala on the Player stream are 13:25 to 16:00 on Sunday. That is wrong, because according to the Coloured Time Schedule, the Gala is from 14:30 to 17:00 CEST.

It looks like they have either forgotten that the clocks go forward an hour on Sunday morning, or else have just copied the numbers directly from the British Eurosport Player and forgotten to add an hour.

Either way, it is a simple mistake to make. But, one that should have been spotted before publication!

Anyone know the best social media account(s) to follow to see the most footage from the goings ons in Stockholm? FSIGStories on Twitter, which used to repost all skaters' Instagram stories, was suspended. Is there an alternative? Outside that, which skaters are most actively posting right now ?

While this isn't a live "as it happens" option -- if you are desperate I would suggest Instagram, the last couple years that's been how I've seen the majority of the GP events. Use this URL: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/ and after '/tags/' type in the skaters name. You might not get everybody but desperate times require desperate measures
Thanks, it's going to be broadcasted on the CBC and also streamed on CBC sports

Appalled at Eurosport coverage & commentating, I know I should be delighted that FS is back on the linear channels and I had been until they made such a mess of things. Losing coverage at the last group or even 2 (men) was infuriating. If you can't do live then don't and give me decent repeat instead. What the hell was it with the Ladies highlights ?!- no last group, no commentary, just random selection of skaters that already were shown in the live portion and then an abrupt ending without any further clue, I recorded the night repeat in case it would be revised but no, the same :bang:
With men at least the highlights covered all top finishers and Mark Hanratty was commentating a new.
More than anything I was furious with myself because last night I suddenly remembered that there was another option- BBC Red Button which I completely forgot. It is not my first choice because in Ireland we can no longer recorder this channel yet it was good plan B
Oh dear and I was stupid enough to believe in Eurosport and even praise their generosity - live coverage of all events - ha!
And what is hell with Simon Reed? Anyone else noticed he was completely off - at times I felt like was was under influence or something, Chris had to correct him so many times. Both though were totally unprepared and and could not care less. Mark Hanratty was like a hallelujah after these two.
