Yes.

Yes. It doesn't affect all international competitions (e. g. european championships, world cup series/GPs), but all world championships throughout sports.

Yes, it did put her at a disadvantage against Bradie/ Kaori. However, of she lands her 3A and gets her levels she will do fine!

Depends far too much on how many quads she does (the more she does the less choreography is acknowledged) and how clean she is

The final group would be better, but I think skating first in this group should help her. The judges already know she's the best out of her group. If she skated last then she might just get caught up in the trend of low PCS.

Rika and Brandie reaaaaally lucked out to get to be the last ones in the final group.

This is good for Sasha - she hates skating last and won't have to land a 3A after Rika. It's interesting for Anna...(depends on how Sasha does but Anna does just tend to skate regardless of how others do (or don't) perform)

Yeah, Shcherbakova skated extremely well at Nationals after both Valieva and Trusova skated so well.

And yes, the layout’s insane and her chances for gold would probably be way higher if she took an easier route. But that‘s her, love it or hate it. So, all I say is: Let her make history one more time. She deserves it.

Big risk big reward. The history book seems to matter more to her than the medal, although both go hand in hand, so yes, let her make history!

Anna not so lucky. If Alexandra lands her 3a, it will look weird if Anna gets a higher score than her immediately after without a high c element. So the judges will refrain more from inflating her score.

I mean she usually does. Although World's is a different thing. And she had the BV to beat both Kamila and Sasha. Although then she wasn't even doing runthroughs. She might not here - depending on what Sasha goes for.

It's funny. People keep saying Sasha's the underdog. But Sasha's never been. She's been named as the one to beat since she was 14. It's always been true that if she lands everything she's capable of - she wins. (Regardless of what everyone else does.)

Inflate seems like a strange word, i don't think anyone wants a skater to get inflated scores but scores proportional to their performance. If Trusova lands her triple axel clean (which she hasn't done this year)and the rest of her SP clean i dont think Shcherbakova's better PCS is likely to overtake Trusova, but a clean triple axel doesn't automatically equal leading the SP.... ask Tuktamysheva, granted Trusova doesn't have the layout problems rhat Tuktamysheva does.

Anna won't get a higher score than Sasha if Sasha lands her 3A. That was never a concern. It wouldn't happen nationally either. Anna very well might get higher PCS. Anna can get 78/79 (maybeeeeeee 80 if she's perfect - unlikely) without a 3A. Sasha will be about 83 with a 3A.

Also skating after Bradie - the US number one who they need to place top 5 at the minimum isn't quite the advantage you think it is...

From someone who did not appreciate this revolution of the sport and was very vocal about it: Might be surprising to you but I still don‘t. I would watch a 7 triples program over one with quads any day. But there comes a time when you resign yourself to the reality - quads are here to stay.

And as such, I am of course rooting for Sasha. This is her revolution, she single-handedly changed the face of ladies singles skating when she landed those quads at Junior Worlds 2018. And she deserves to benefit from that, she deserves to fully reap the glory from her achievements. A skater who did something so fundamentally groundbreaking as a literal teenager should have a place in history not only as a world record holder but as a World and Olympic Champion.

And no, I‘m still not a fan of the changes in ladies figure skating. I still don’t love Sasha’s performances as much as I do those of others, although she has visibly improved in all areas I personally deem important in skating. She is so much more than people, including myself, have given her credit for.

Most importantly, however, I have always and will always respect her as an athlete and as a courageous young woman. She’s worked so much and she‘s come so far and regardless of what I think of the changes she‘s brought to the sport, she deserves to be the face of it. So, yes, let her make history and let her be the Champion.

I totally understand your point of view, but for me, it's the other way around. I am mostly a technical fan and therefor I almost always root for the most technical difficult program. That said, my favourites tend to be skaters that give me an emotional kick as well, so it's not all about the tech for me after all... Figure Skating is an unique sport in that sense.

The things that actually hurts Anna the most is falling so many times in front of the judges. But Sasha's fallen too.
