I am hoping to see a clean short and long program from Lambiel with all the jumps, including the triple axel. I am tired of seeing him do programs with so many mistakes. I would love to see what he is capable of scoring if he skates cleanly. His long program at Worlds had 3 big mistakes and he still cracked 160, a near fall on the second quad, a triple flip-triple toe combo which turned into a double flip, badly two footed triple toe; losing over 8 points outright for the mistakes, and likely more on GOE and PCS. At Skate Canada he managed a 146 with an old program, a double axel instead of a triple again, a quad toe fall-discounted triple toe combo, a doubled triple flip-triple toe combo, and a stumbled out of the second quad. So I really think if he landed all his planned jumps cleanly he could definitely crack 170.
I also think he could score in the high 80s if he did a clean short, if he could score a mid-60s with a short program at Skate Canada of a quad toe-fall-no triple toe combo, a double axel, and tumble on his final spin combo; and score a 72+ with a lame triple toe-double toe combo and a fall on a triple axel at Worlds, I think he could definitely manage that.
So it is time for him to stop stumbling and popping and falling on jumps. Just land all the jumps cleanly for once so we can see what he is capable of, not just the scores but the performance he is capable of without it being marred by all those silly jump mistakes.
