This worlds also gave me hope for Aliona next season, and I hope she realizes it too. Ice is slippery, and covid has really affected skaters around the world. Even without the 3A, she would’ve been competitive for the podium here, and with the 3A any of her performances from the 2019/20 season would’ve scored above the gold medalist. She can do it!
 
This world, considered the talent of the girls, was under par.
Nobody, except maybe Liza T. and Sakamoto did their better.
But we can't blame it on the skaters: it's hard to program a season and a form peak when you live day by day improvising and adapting to health issue and chaging schedules.
Covid really left is mark on it.

If alliona watched the free skate I'm sure she was thinking if she was 85% of last season skater she could have won worlds. I hope she gets her triple Axel back but if she doesn't she can still score 225 235 points internationally and that will contend at worlds and the Olympics.

Hopefully alyona can get healthy because Anns won worlds not in her best health and coming off pneumonia.

If AK finds her form she makes the judges go wow that's the most beautiful skater.

Great point Mac and let's hope next season is not tainted by Corona virus. It was also hard for all of these athletes to stay basically in their hotel Room or the rink for a week. I hope next season the federation will take proper precautions for their skaters and they have to take better care of themselves. Take proper vitamins and nutrients to keep their immune system strong.

Most of the girls did not skate anywhere near their best and there were extenuating circumstances as you pointed out. Let's hope Corona virus is on its way out soon so the Olympic season has no interruptions.
