Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

After the way the performances went down, I was hoping for gold for Liza.

When I watch her skate, I am reminded of Maria Butyrskaya, a skater who had to fight to get the respect she deserved. When MB won the World Championships in 1999, I jumped out of my seat, I was so happy for her.

I was hoping for the same for Liza, but I'm still happy for her tonight. I hope she has a great deal of pride in that silver medal.

I wrote to ladies FS thread "I don't care who medals", I like everybody. Ok, I take it back. I care. I got tears with Liza when she realized she will medal. And I am always happy to see that a Lady in ladies is can compete with the girls. I am happy to see ladies who don't quit, but keep progressing. Thank You Liza for doing that.

Her instagram post on Worlds is here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CM6mFpaHBxj/

I still can't believe everything is like a dream (in a good dream) !! I want to dedicate this victory to all women in figure skating. We can do everything! Never give up, go your own way to come at the right time to the right place

And here she is with her medal!

Looks like she didn’t complete her free skate practice. Wonder what the issue was.

Alexey Mishin, coach of figure skater Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, told about the moment when his ward had tears in his eyes. This happened when announcing scores for the free program, as it became clear that the 24-year-old Russian woman would be a medalist of the World Cup in Stockholm.

What did I tell her? The woman is crying, she has feelings and emotions. Don't interfere and say anything. These are tears of joy, and it is absolutely inappropriate to say something to the coach at this point," Mishin told Sport-Express.
He added that Tuktamysheva in Stockholm "hasn't shown everything yet". Mishin also called the ward a statue of Freedom for skaters who have crossed the age of 20.

Lisa is just holding a torch that illuminates the words: "Girls, work and you'll be on the world pedestal. Don't panic, don't quit. Fight!" - stressed the coach.

Another post by Elizaveta about Worlds, bidding Stockholm goodbye, and thanking her coaches.

Which Google translate renders as follows:

Bye, Stockholm!
This time we had new and unusual conditions, but the fact that this World Cup took place is a great joy for all athletes.
Thank you Alexey Nikolaevich and Tatyana Nikolaevna!
In many ways, my medal is your merit ♥ ️
And I will not exaggerate if I say that without you there would be no such Liza Tuktamysheva.

Scuse me, I think I might have another tear in my eye.

I LOVE that little, "Oh, no you didn't!" finger wriggle at the start and finish of her FS program! Sassy little Empress still winning medals at Worlds long after the haters began wishing she'd go away and make room for kiddos. Rise Empress!
I'm in love with that move too!

Liza looks so fierce doing it too!

Hello fellow fans of the Empress! Today I'm here to ask for your help. I'm looking for an interview with Liza which I thought I had saved to my personal collection, but now cannot find anymore and also my search on youtube has been unsuccessful so far. The video is rather long, definitely >30min, and for most of the time Liza and the interviewer are driving through the streets of St. Petersburg. Liza is behind the wheel of a rather big car (some kind of sedan or maybe SUV) and I remember she said she either just had learned to drive or at least hadn't had much practice driving, so she drove very carefully and appeared a bit stressed out by the whole "driving through the city while giving an interview" situation. Does anyone know the video or even have a link to it? :thank: for your help in advance!

Wow, sounds great. Would love to see this as well.
The inexperienced empress potentially mowing down pedestrians on camera. Haha
