EDIT: Speaking of costumes, does anybody know why they make Kamila's skirts longer than everyone else's? It's definitely not coincidence, could it have sth do to with her super long legs? Cause I would be showcasing them instead. Or to make her look more floating than she is already? Maybe even extra traditional parents weighing in?
It was Eteri's vision for her SP. I think because of the long legs. Then Eteri chose to swich it to a more usual lenght. But in the fall Kamila said at least in two interviews that she likes the long skirt look, so I think Eteri allowed her to have one in a show 🤔

I think team tutberidze needs to look for some other designers though. I mean we can't only relied on Ryabenko. Atleast for variety purpose, especially when Olga seems to have burn out for the past few seasons. I feel like i have seen countless version of Alina new dress from Olga past works. She is an OGM, they need to package her better.

Bobkova used to do Mao costumes, the Sochi FP dress is the most memorable imo. She also has been doing zhenya costumes for these past 2 years and i think she is doing a pretty good job so far . It would be a nice addition to have bobkova as the team designer as well.
Bobkova already worked for TT, Anna's Firebird costume was done by her.

I liked costumes for this season done by Olga though.

i'm not a fan of the long skirts on Kamila, for me they eat her up, although i do appreciate the flowy quality they compliment her skating with. if her SP dress was just a bit shorter i'd be more of a fan, but obviously if she likes them then you do you girl :)

I am an absolute fan of the long dresses and as long as they are fine for her to do jumps, I will go all in for them  It's not just the floating of the skirt while skating, the whole structure of the dress makes her look so mature and well composed, it adds up a lot to her artistic performance. I've mentioned it once, but now I remembered again - her costumes and composure remind me so much of Papadakis/Cizeron which I adore. They feel so different and unique on the ice in comparison to other skaters.

The long dresses work with the exception of the jumps, then they look like a mountain of fabric

I dont think Alena is going to use Lovely for her fs program but rather her sp program. It doesnt really have the climatic feeling that would bring an olympic audience to their feets. I think thats why Evgenia ditched her Leftovers program for Anna Karenina because it was dramatic and had the wow factor. Unfortunately this Lovely program is rather underwhelming. Alena is doing her absolute best with it and her interpretation has really improved, so its totally nothing to do with her.
The best interpretation i have seen of this song is this contemporary duet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ovHSQwp1n0 Really beautiful lines and precise movements. Which is weird because Alena has proven she can do that, as seen from her Angel program and the first couple of seconds of her Billie Elish sp from last year. Maybe it just needs polishing or tweaking the choregraphy a bit.

Who from her camp said they would give her Lovely as her Olympic season FS? I thought we were speculating that she was gonna keep it as a SP at most ?

How about trousers for Kamila, but done in a feminine, elegant way. As I understand, this would not violate the ISU regulations? I'm confused because I thought I had read more detailed rules about this somewhere else, but the current regulations file (June 2018) doesn't actually say all that much:

"At ISU Championships, the Olympic Winter Games and
International Competitions, the clothing of the Competitors must be modest,
dignified and appropriate for athletic competition
–not garish or theatrical in design. Clothing may, however, reflect the character of
the music chosen. The clothing must not give the effect of excessive
nudity inappropriate for the discipline. Men must wear full length
trousers. In addition, in Ice Dance, Ladies must wear a skirt.
Accessories and props are not permitted.
Clothing that does not adhere to these guidelines will be penalized by a deduction (see Rule 353, paragraph 1.n)."

Morisi looks like a poltergeist captured in the photo by accident

"In addition, in Ice Dance, Ladies must wear a skirt..."
Odd, I remember seeing a few female ice dancers in trousers/leggings (rhythm/short dances for Fear/Gibson this season, plus the ShibSibs and Hubbell/Donohue in 2016/17). Maybe this rule only applies in the free dance?
Seems silly when the other disciplines allow unitards :/

Kamila's FS costume and Anna's FS costume were made by Milena last season.

Ladies ice dancers are specifically granted permissions to wear catsuits/trousers in the RD for specific styles of dance, such as hip-hop in the 2016/17 permission. Otherwise they must wear a skirt for both programs. I agree that it's very silly (and a bit backward too).
