I saw that as well and was wondering what she was carrying! I saw another suggestion that maybe it's an ukulele...? :scratch2: Or knowing Aliona and her desire to be weird/unique -- maybe it's a viola??

It would be cool if Aliona is learning to play an instrument...but does she really have time for that?!
Between training, studying (she had a big exam today -- that's why she left early from yesterday's show), horse-riding, and planning TikToks, does she really have time for another hobby??:dbana:

Separately, following up on my post earlier with Aliona using Daniil as a wall to lean against when she put her skate guards on...
It does seem like they're back to their old jokey/teasing relationship...?

When Aliona left Team T., Daniil seemed pretty hurt, and when the news about her wanting to return first appeared, he seemed the most cautious/resistant, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see that they seem to have repaired their relationship. (y) (Or at least they appear to be getting along again.)

Here's for hoping that Daniil actually gives her great programs for the upcoming season. (Or even better -- if Eteri choreographs them!):pray:

Actually, that video is from 2018 (the title says 14.06.18 = June 14, 2018).
And you can tell because Aliona has the same crimped hair that she had for this interview

That must have been right before Dasha left the group. Interesting seeing the girls 3 years younger. Kamila and Sofia look so pipsqueakean. ;)

Obviously big changes for aliona over the past 3 years too.

Why do skaters wear clothing that covers their boots halfway? Is there a practical reason?
Relatively recently I've posted here an interview with a skater/coach (pity I forgot who it was), who explained three reasons of covering:
1. optical prolonging of the leg.
2. covering the damage of the boots.
3. protecting the laces.

Ah okay. I guess that makes sense, although re: Reason 1, I think it would be more effective if they covered the boot all the way.

Aliona holding the pole harness (and kind of lost in her thoughts...) :)
