Yes. Asada would have to tank this one in order to even be in danger of losing.

kimmie's score is lower than wagner??

That's really not that much of a shock. Ashley is a REALLY tough, consistent competitor. She has shown greater consistency than Mao IMO if you're just looking at jumps.

I like Kimmie's programs this season... she's lovely skater in her own right... and at least she's not just another cookie cutter ladies champ.

Really? Inflated PCS? You know that for a fact because you saw her skate just now? You may not care for her free skate, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she didn't do it well (albeit that she clearly had some trouble technically today, too).

Kimmie, as of now, isn't exactly a smooth, graceful, emotional skater. She can be an exciting skater when she hits everything, and she's certainly dependable. But as far as positions, fluidness and interpretation go, a flawed performance by Kimmie shouldn't be scored 7 points higher on PCS than a clean (or close to clean) performance by Ashley.

This will be great for Wagner, a real breakthrough. Now the judges and everyone will start to take her seriously, I think. I have no idea how she ended up so low at her last GP event, so I'm glad she was treated fairly here.

Okay, they can really go back to the old 6.0 system. Kimmie got lower TES than the French girl - but they gave her so much PCS so nobody will notice. You can look at any of these skaters - if they have a good reputation and bad TES - they just inflate the PCS, few minutes ago with Meier, now with Meissner. The Canadian Lady got 12 points less PCS but 10 points more TES. But she does not have that a good reputation, so they keep her low. And Kimmie is a great skater with good skating skills - but come on, she is not the ultimate artist on ice (well, perhaps she was tonight and I will know better after having watched her program). But I think the judges kind of kill the hopes of "new" girls like Wagner and Leung, it is like they are not really rewarded, even if they worked hard etc.

I totally agree with you there.

Exactly my point.
Except I don't think Mira's low PCS should have anyone crying wuzrobbed...

Mao with two deductions scores over 122 and runs away with the gold.
Really curious for the protocols now...how do you score that high with TWO deductions?!

2 falls and she's ahead by that much? Wow, the other ladies must have been horrible.

I do think the judges here were more liberal with the PCS than they were at the other GP's, but that's still a ridiculous score for Mao. Hopefully at least one of the deductions was a time violation, not a major mistake.
