I feel so good for Alysa! All of her jumps are much improved. The 2axel is much bigger and even looks like a good jump now (her previous 2axel was underwhelming), and the rest of her triples have more air and distance. I'm so glad she's going to Nebelhorn to get that third spot. However, I'm nervous that she'll be in Europe for so long, and Covid exposure. We still need one (or two) other American ladies there just in case Liu has a positive test. But yeah, Alysa is ready for Nebelhorn. She'll own it.

? she's more likely to get exposed to COVID in the US than in Italy or Germany...

Alysa! 😍 wow! She was great! Big clear jumps and the combo at the very end. Only thing she needs o work on is to improve the last spin to a level 4 spin, and then to work on the triple axel.
She is already about 12 points ahead of the rest of the field. I think she can try a triple axel attempt for the free skate. Good for her! I’m going to watch her performance live tomorrow while juggling the Russian Test skates. Great day tmrw to be a fan of figure skating.
How was that Layback spin only a level 3? It was incredible!

Alysa is making a good case for herself for a spot on the Olympic team. Her win at Cranberry plus her likely win in Italy will be great for her confidence. If she is healthy, she will have no issue placing high at Nebelhorn either.

I like watching her because she always looks like she is having the time of her life out there when she's skating/performing. She still has a lot to work on but whatever she and her team are doing is working.

I noticed something odd though, when the chiron came up and said her coach was Laura L., I was surprised to see that it hadn't been updated to Scali and company.

It’s probably because her ISU bio hasn’t been updated since the 2019-20 season. It still shows her height as 147 cm and her SP as Don’t Rain on my Parade.

Let's just say if I'm traipsing around Europe for a couple weeks, I would not feel secure that I wouldn't pick up Covid. Any travelling isn't ideal right now, but whatever, you do you.

The conditions involved in travel and the fact that you are exposed to people you don't know make it more dangerous. Plus, neither the US or most of Europe is a shining light in terms of the way COVID-19 has been handled. She would be safer if traveling in Taiwan or New Zealand. (But , of course, then she wouldn't be allowed in ;))

This is so exciting. It's been a while since we've had 2 ladies really be in the mix when Jr Worlds roll around. Alysa is a fulltime Senior now, right?
Yes. Isabeau and Lindsay both won their Junior assignments. I think the USA federation is now all in on these two newcomers. As you can see with these scores. Lindsay could be a dark horse for making the Olympic team. Especially with all these injuries and lack of technical content by the top American ladies. Isabeau is too young for the Olympics this year. Alysa is making her Senior Debut and will stick to it. After this Olympic cycle, these three may take over for the USA. This means Bradie, Karen, Mariah, Starr and Amber better make the most of this year. Kind of exciting though to see the newcomers coming up after years and years of the same ladies duking it out in the Senior ranks.
