Isabeau in 2nd after the SP at JGP Linz, with a score of 71.32 (2A, 3F, 3Lz+3T).
71.32.......I believe that's her PB for the season. That's a very deep event with Russian, Korean, and Canadian skaters and I hope she can maintain her place in the free. Quick edit......I just saw Isabeau's SP and it was lovely. The speed and distance between her 3/3 will come. It's her spins, edge quality, and beautiful performance skills for such a young lady that really win me over.

I think it will be difficult for her to stay ahead of Anastasia Zinina in the FS unless she attempts the 4T. Based on the protocols from their first assignments, Zinina has something like a 10-point BV lead.

Isabeau is so good  The opening 2A was so stunning. If you compare this SP to her SPs from a year ago, she’s improved so much :jaw: Also the interpretation and performance was the best i’ve ever seen from her today and it was lovely to see.

I would love to see improvement in Isabeau's overall skating over the next year like what Alysa did with her skating with more emphasis on speed and proper stroking to give her more power which she lacks at the moment. It would help with her jumps also. But her attention to detail is so impressive for someone only 14.

This may not be nice but if Starr made the podium at Nationals it would mean it was a terrible competition and the US is at a new all time low.
That’s really sad for you to say and shame on you, when you don’t own a crystal ball to the future. Anything goes at this point with the American Ladies. Skating involves with more than just jumps. You can pick up points strategically in other areas getting plus grade of execution. As I see, based on who has proven without a reasonable doubt is Alysa for her spot to the team. Everyone else is a wild card!

Jeez poor Amber. She looked like she was ready to give up on skating after that program, and the judges rlly buried her.
Honestly, the judges didn't bury her. She got some of the best PCS of the night. What buried her was her fall on the ur 3A, iffy combo, and likely invalidated spin at the end. If she had just not messed up on her spin, she would have been several places higher. Honestly, she buried herself.. It wasn't the judges doing. She is just not a good competitor.

Edit: This sounded harsh. Actually, as I have mentioned before Amber is the best US women's skater to see live. Her power is just incredible. So, she is ( probably) my favorite of the US women. It just frustrates me that skater who is so talented can't seem to get it together in competition. It obviously frustrates Amber, too. Some people just aren't natural competitors.

Ok I completely missed the error on the spin honestly, so you're right.
