Anya Shcherbakova said that she made a mistake on the combination in the short program because she "thought too much":

As Eteri Georgievna told me, you just think too much. This combination is so worked out in training that I can do it from any position. We must go and do it, but I thought too much. Maybe she wanted to do it above her strength ... I jumped a double toeloop, just so as not to be left completely without a combination. I wanted to (attach) a rittberger, but something didn't work out on landing (from the lutz), so I added a toeloop so as not to lose a lot of points. There was no time to think too much.

And Anna remains classy as ever.

I saw something on YouTube that Anna is third in the SP. Good luck in the free skate tomorrow she can nail that and win gold.

I wasn't following there so I don't know if Anna was pinched hard with the scores or not.

She had a problem with her 3Lz-3Lo combo, and couldn't add the loop. She managed to hang on and put a 2T on the end, but it meant her technical score wasn't as high as Maya's and Loena's.

I want Anna to bring back Perfume. Its such a great program and she skates it beautifully. Plus its my favorite.

Loena was great and with 3Lz+2T it was impossible. But never mind, it's a difficult combo, not even Sasha is jumping it anymore (and she used to jump it as nothing).. good luck in the free, I believe in victory..
