Because the Zhangs are one of the most overscored teams in history, that is why they finish 2nd when they deserve to be 3rd here. Dont look to their skating and its merit for answers, you will find none.
So why ARE they so overmarked anyway?
Their zero artistry is blatantly displayed in all of their programs.
How are the judges able to overlook this???
I have no idea. Maybe the Chinese federation is selling out Pang/Tong in order to promote the Zhangs, since Pang/Tong seem undermarked often while the Zhangs seem overmarked at the same time. Often countries will do that, buy out scores for the one they choose to back by making deals with others, while sacrificing the other as a sacrificial lamb. I dont know. There is no obvious answer to me.
Maybe they just get excited by their speed and big tricks and overlook all their flaws and give them huge marks in everything.
But seriously Z/Z would be better at playing Texas Holdem with their poker faces.
You are so right there. Especialy her.Ah, the good old politics....
Okay, I don't want to go there.
But seriously Z/Z would be better at playing Texas Holdem with their poker faces.

Congratz to S/S!!! I was hoping they would take this. Too bad about D/D. I thought they would be closer to P/T coming in, but I guess the mistakes and lack of triple twist hurt them. Even so, a good showing for their first year.
Looking at D/D skate, I am always scared for Jessica in the lifts. She is short, but she is not a tiny, bird-boned girl, and Bryce has a slight build and doesn't have a well-muscled upper body.
They will probably never get a triple twist and will be limited in the throws they can do because they verge on being physically mismatched.
are you saying Jessica's fat?
No, she is definitely not fat. But she has a stocky body type and she is very muscular, and muscle is the heaviest type of body tissue. Jessica is not fat, but she may be heavier to lift than a petite, fine-boned skater like Aliona Savchenko or Keauna McLaughlin. And Bryce is not as well-developed in the shoulders and chest as Robin Szolkowy or Rockne Brubaker.
Bryce has had near-misses in lifts in the past, and in the summer of 2006 he actually dropped Jessica on a lift during a practice session, and she was hurt.
It's the combination of her body type being just a little too heavy for his body type to be able to lift and throw with ease.
There there isn't much Jessica can do about her body type, and although Bryce has worked at developing his upper body, it hasn't helped much. He has to be careful not to become over-developed, because that could disrupt his jumping.
Jess and Bryce have very good lifts; they cover the ice well, have great positions and Bryce has incredibly neat footwork. As for Bryce having "dropped" Jessica in the past, it's not like this hasn't happened to other pair teams. I'm not sure where all this negativity is coming from...
They have good lifts, but not great ones. They do not have a triple twist and probably never will, and the throws they can do consistently are the simpler ones.
Bryce had to abort a lift in their SP at the GPF, and it was not the first time that happened.
Physically, they are not an ideal pair and it does place limitations on the pairs skills they can do with ease. What they do have is very excellent 'pairness', but without the harder skills, they may not be able to challenge for a spot on the World podium.
