New SP World Record ; it was so moving and poetic that I will not write anything more.

Google translate:

- What can you say about your rental?
- Today I am happy with my rental. I am glad that the coaches praised me. I enjoyed the ride. You can say I almost did my best. The combination didn't turn out very well.

- Are there any images that you would like to embody on the ice?
- I would very much like a pantomime. When I was little, I skated pantomimes. I would like to return to this topic. And to implement, probably, at exhibition performances.

- How do you recover after training and competition?
- Take a walk with friends, with a dog. Get distracted from figure skating as much as possible.

- Why did you decide to change the dress for the short program?
- Because we thought that now this dress will look much better than the previous one. I like this dress better.

- How do you feel from playing at the home arena?
- I like performing at home. The viewer knows and supports you. Warmly welcomes. It probably helps us skate.

- What have you worked on the most since the previous stage of the Grand Prix?
- After Canada, I developed programs, worked on emotions and elements.

And more about the meaning of the programme.

English text from the IG caption:

“This is a story about a butterfly. I catch her, follow her throughout the program. And in the end I let her go. Kirill Richter (composer) said that this is music - the memory of the victims. For this short program, I probably ... (at this moment Kamila turned away from the camera, trying to hold back her tears, but they came anyway) ”.

“We probably won't answer this question,” said Olga Yermolina, press attaché of the federation, but Kamila continued to answer.

“This is a program about my grandmother, who died in 2019,” finished Valieva.

As I said in the Russian Women's Thread, this adds to the brilliance of the programme. It's a piece called In Memoriam, and the butterfly has long-standing associations with the soul. Kamila is chasing and following a butterfly, which could, on one level, be read as chasing after her deceased grandmother, and at the end, she lets the butterfly go. So thematically simple, and yet so brilliant. On one level, a programme about following a butterfly, on another level, a programme about loss and death and grief, and finally coming to terms with it.

tbh I did not know that the SP was about loss and grief, but there was always something so introspective and longing about it. It's almost as if the feelings/sentiment were communicated, even to me (the fool), without me even knowing it.

I'm still in absolute awe of how incredible it was today. This girl brings me so much happiness and I only thank her for sharing the honesty, pain and truth behind this program too, because she didn't have to 💜

Literally every picture from SP in beautiful. Ina Bauer, her facial expressions, her hands, her lines. Absolutely stunning!
100% agreed! I wonder why some people don't get it and say total nonsense about her skating, like it's nothing special and she does nothing really extraordinary on the ice... What's the point in denying such talent and beauty who really makes a difference in women's figure skating? A poetic question I know, but such level of negativity is just beyond my ken...

If the best skater on Earth is “nothing special” then who is?

I absolutely agree. 💯
