For Sinitsyna Samodelkina and Zinina I guess they will be keeping their eyes on the scores closely. I hope JGPF goes forward so Zinina can boost her score and I hope Samodelkina is named to junior worlds team

With Tennell I don’t think she’ll be ready at nationals and I don’t think she’ll get 4CC because it’s so soon right after. With worlds I could see USA naming her because if Mariah and Karen make the Olympics and skip worlds, then the world team is likely Alysa Amber and Lindsay who would have a very hard time fighting for 3 spots even against the Russian and Japanese B-teams.

If the JGPF is rescheduled Zinina should get the spot as Levito unfortunately withdrew just a few days before cancellation. Maybe they can include 9 Junior girls

Any predictions on tech upgrades for nationals? with the GPF cancelled the top contenders might not go for upgrades they were planning but didn’t get to test out. Valieva was set even without adding the 3Lo combo but I’m more thinking Maya’s 4S, Aliona’s 3rd 3A, and most significantly Anna’s 3rd quad might have been planned and won’t show up now.

Trusova meanwhile will hopefully be limited by Eteri. As much as I want Tuktamysheva on the Olympic team, this is really in Trusova’s hands and at this point 2 quads like last year are the best chance of scoring outside of Tuktamysheva’s potential. The St Petersburg crowd will be behind Liza, so Trusova needs to not give judges any more reasons to put Liza ahead.

As for the others, seems Sinitsyna has lost her quad so I won’t get my hopes up there. The layouts of Muravyeva, Samodelkina, and Petrosyan will also be of interest as they all have multiple Ultra-C elements they’re trying and they don’t have much to lose here. If Samodelkina ever wants to try a 4-5 quad program this is probably the last time in her career that she can prioritize tech over placements. same with Petrosyan and that 4Lo. And after Zinina’s recent struggles will Plushenko downgrade her perhaps just to one quad?

Yeah, it's still preliminary and although it makes me sad I doubt Daria will appear at nationals even if she will be able to renew trainings immediately after the medical examination.

no i don't think we will see daria, it was shared in her FF last week she will be back on the ice in 2 weeks which means nationals is not happening. for her own health and safety i hope she doesn't try to push it and get back on before that.

This is such a bummer. I know she was likely not going to make the Russian Olympic Team anyway, but I was still looking forward to seeing her fight it out.

I hope she continues competing after this season. It would be such a shame if we never got to see her at Worlds.

Any news om Daria and Sasha injuries? Sorry I havn´t been reading this thread recently so forgive me if this question comes up a lot. I´m surprised to see Daria is on the the list at all. I thought her injury was pretty serious so it kinda worries me.

i am gutted for her. this is horrible horrible timing. a skater who had her first and only (so far) world championships and possibly a world gold taken from her. now her olympic chances have been taken. these last couple years couldn't have been more unlucky. can't imagine how she's feeling right now.

however i am happy to hear it's her wrist and not her foot. it could be worse. she still has a chance at worlds and i hope she can at least go and end the season on a high note.

Sasha is planning to attend, as far as we know.
Daria’s recovery time was last estimated to be around a week from now. So in any case, there won’t be time to get in shape and compete at Nationals within a week after her recovery.

I know that a few years ago Liza had to withdraw from Nationals but competed at the RCF to try and qualify for Worlds…

A lot of skaters who do well at the Olympics don’t often go to Worlds that year so maybe it could be a good opportunity.

It's not about the medical establisment as much as about the lack of training. Because even if she's fully recovered a month without skating means at least a month and half (and rather two) to get back to the form.
