Part of the development of an athlete is constantly listening to your body and relearning what is the 'good pain' you get when you're on the edge of taking yourself to the next level and what is the 'bad pain' that signals you're risking the kind of injury that takes a long time to come back from.

Which is unfortunately much harder to do if you’re in a training camp where you are constantly being told that actually your own internal pain meter is somehow inaccurate or overly sensitive. Though I don’t think Aliona’s injury was from overtraining.

how about Bradie and Rika's camps? They have better pain meters than in the one mentioned?

People very much criticized Bradie’s move to her current coach because he is known for injured skaters. If you’d like to vouch for anyone, I wouldn’t start by comparing them to others who have a worse reputation for something than the group you defend.

And when no Russian women medal at the olympics because Eteri injured them all, then what?
Hmm...it sounds to me that you are suggesting that Eteri goes around breaking her skaters legs and wrists with a stick.:ROFLMAO: How very Tonya-esque of you.

Like many others have said, a LOT of the top skaters from every nation are injured. Look at Yuzuru Hanyu who has been injured like since forever.
This is not an Eteri problem. It's this sport that is brutal...that's all.

I wonder if it's the pandemic that messed up their training/fitness/routine etc

It's just bizzare the number of athletes who are injured. I love Rika and Bradie. Never thought they'd both be taken out at the same time, in the same season. Now add them plus the string of other injuries and I'm going to blame the damn pandemic.

It's never been this bad with people dropping left and right surely?

ETA: Or is it the harder jumps? Even Bradie was trying the 3A. I wonder if that's what's knocking them all out? In any case it's very disheartening. I'm sad I won't get to watch them but even more sad for their sakes. I just can't imagine all that work, the talent, all those hopes and dreams being trampled on.

Then Alysa still sadly won’t be on the podium. Or did you hope otherwise? Lots of wishful thinking here. Like the time you thought Alysa would win over Kamila at Skate Canada or that she was certainly beating Aliona there.

I don’t even know why some try to justify this to these people. It’s obvious to anyone with a brain it is an accident, unless Eteri just decided to beat Aliona’s wrist with a baseball bat to „injure“ her.

every single one of Eteri’s Olympic contenders is injured except Kamila. But sure jan:)

you better dream positively. For example, how Alice Liu does three triple axels in the short program and seven quads in the FS. And to those who dream wrong, instead of Santa Claus, a bear sent by Eteri comes and drags them into the Siberian taiga:devilish:.

The 3A in particular. Falls are worse for the 3A than any other jump, generally speaking (Anna's was a freak quad fall). From the Bradie attempts at the 3A that I've seen, she was never close to getting it.

LOL, okay. You’re living in your own world it seems. I’ll leave you with your fantasies and dreams.
Just like I said with your previous predictions on Skate Canada - we‘ll see.

I almost admire how you keep on hoping to see demise of these girls, while with every ridiculous prediction you make, reality hits you in the face harder and harder each time.

I'm not hoping for anyone's demise.

It's a factual statement that 4/6 of Eteri's seniors are injured, whether you like it or not. Someone here does needs a reality check, and that someone is not me.

You are not? Reading your twitter account clarifies your actual feelings more than anything

Hint: being injured in the past doesn't mean being injured forever, in such case Alysa would have to be considered injured as well. ;)

Nevertheless, if no one incl. your beloved ones is able to defeat even "injured Eteri skater", then the problem is not on Eteri's skaters side.

Uh changing the subject...

If the age limit was increased, how would it affect the state of the Russian ladies scene? Who would dominate seniors and juniors?

If it's a straight jump to 17, I assume current 15 y/o seniors would get to stay in seniors. But how would this affect the current juniors? Do people think Akatieva would still dominate?

If it's a staggered increase to 17, ie next year it's 16 then the year after it's 17, who would be the new seniors then?

Seniors without Kamila/Maiia/Daria would mean Anna/Liza/Sasha/Aliona would fight for dominance.
In juniors perhaps Kamila and Sofia would be the top skaters.

Frolova?
