I think Trusova aim here should be to keep herself in the running for the 3rd spot with Elizaveta. And then Rus Fed will sent them to Euros to decide who gets the spot. I dont think her aim should be to up Kamila right now and risk a meltdown and losing your spot. I dont think Eteri is gonna risk her going all out and losing the 3 olympic spot since Maia doesnt have much chance against a consistent Elizaveta
I agree with you but we do not know what will happen. If sasha only does 2 quads EG must have have the word of the Russian federation that the 3rd spot will be decided at euros. If there is absolutely no reason for sasha to shoot her wad now.

I'm pretty sure there is never going to be a skate off at Euros. Only if someone fails at Euros that girl will be replaced and won't go to the Olympics. That's how the RusFed usually works.

My Trusova Beijing 2022 hopes are alive and okay, which is what matters most to me right now.

No, a bit more seriously:

1. Kamila: Really enjoyed her interpretation today, felt like she gave it her all. Wonderful spins as always, too. I'm still missing Storm but I'm warming up to this program. Scores are bonkers, of course, so not worth commenting on. Great job from her overall.

2. Sofia M.: I'm very happy about that. Program (and music) aren't my favorite but she delivered a great 3A again! Now all I'm hoping is for them not to risk the 4S in the FS so that she can stay in the top 6 and get a place on the main national team. Come on, Plushy, please make a sensible decision, I'm begging you.

3. Anna. I'm not sold completely on the SP yet. I think she can do drama and intensity very well (she can probably do every type of program and sell it lol) but this is very fast paced music and speed isn't her greatest strength. As a result, it looks like she's chasing the music a bit. But considering this is literally the second time she's ever performed this program, she does a great job with it. Jumps weren't her best today but there's still the FS where I have no doubt she'll move ahead in the standings.

4. Sofia Samo.: Good job on the 3A! A bit scratchy but she got it done. I'm also enjoying this program more and more. Could have scored a bit higher imo but looks like the 3F was q, so that's probably where she lost GOE on. Still, having her 3 points behind Tuktamysheva in PCS is nonsensical but whatever.

5. Sasha. Honestly, the 3A was a bad idea. She's never landed it in competition before and Nationals is a high pressure event. She scored 77 at Skate America with a conservative layout, which is not bad at all. I hope she can land some quads in the FS and get that third spot....

6. Adelia: Her jumps are still scary - she often loses the axis in the air and the 2A is very small, too. Great and energetic performer, though.

7. Liza. Well. The judges want her on the team. That is a VERY generous score for a program with a fall and only a 3-2 that wasn't even backloaded. I would have had both Khromykh and Zinina ahead of her.

This post is already too long so only a final word on Khromykh: That wasn't good but it wasn't a disaster either. Will be hard to climb in the FS, though, she had an opportunity here after both Trusova and Tuktamysheva underperformed. Didn't capitalise on it, sadly.

I'm shocked Liza had some struggles today.
Sasha has a great chance for the 3rd spot at least making the podium at Russian nationals or being the 3rd senior. How many points did the 3A cost her today? But this girl can make up ground in her free skate like nobody else can like last year at worlds when she went from like 11th to 3rd.

I have high hopes for Samodelkina. She really has a lot to offer.

Plushy will make the light call. ;)

I don't think ha Sofia M or any of these kids will be on the national team top 6 next year there's just too many girls.

Set up nicely for tomorrow.

Kamila will be skating the biggest and most important FS of her career. We will find out in 24 hours how she handles the pressure and expectations of a nation. If she does, we will be talking about how we witnessed history.

So far, so good for her as the SP was outstanding.

Well I guess I was wrong about her having some rust after missing GPF and not skating competitively for about a month.

How did the 14 year old girls do?
Sofia Muravieva is in second place and Anna is third. Sofia S is fourth Sasha is 5th. Fell on her 3A attempt as did Lisa!! Who is in 7th place.
