Do we know when that was recorded? It definitely doesn't seem like a good situation and she's not certain about what her condition will be by nationals.

Based on Bradie's interview, she said she gradually increased her training while checking for pain. It sounds like this will be a hail mary performance at nationals.
And it seemed _ if I understood correctly_ that recovery was still very uneven -- still at a point of testing the foot, then having to scale back when it got too painful, etc. I'd have to guess if it weren't the Olympic season Bradie would just take the whole season off to recover. Bradie kept sounding hopeful, but unless I am misreading the situation, it seems pretty bleak. Kind of nonspecific in details, though, so maybe her Hail Mary pass will be caught in the end zone!

What layout does Bradie need to win a spot at nationals? If Mariah is going to show up without any 3-3s you have to wonder if Bradie can do the same thing and beat her at the GOE/PCS game? Could Bradie's foot manage a 3-2 in the short and two in the long? Maybe her layout for the free can be something like:

3Lz-2T-2Lo
3Lz-2Tx
3Lo
3S
3F+2A SEQx
2Ax
3Fx

The interviewer said something like "so you have a few weeks" so I believe this was really recent.

I still have my fingers crossed for Brandie. She worked so hard to regain her title and I can only imagine how hard it must be to watch the season go by. I just don't want her to push things too soon and reinjure herself.

I was concerned for Bradie from the day I heard she was moving to Tom Z. After years of Tom Z, Mirai Nagasu got a few 3As judged as rotated, then had to have surgery after the Olympic season to fix her hip, effectively ending her competitive skating career. I hope and pray that Bradie's injury is not career-ending, too.

Nationals is in less than 2 weeks I believe. I fear for her safety if she shows up and goes for it.

Nationals starts 9 days from today (Tues Jan 4). While all the competitions the first two days are Juniors, Tues Jan 4 is the first day of senior women practice; Senior Pairs and Senior Women SPs are on Thursday, Jan 6.

Seriously. As someone said above, it looks like nationals will be a complete hail mary for Bradie. I really hope that if she competes, she’s ready to actually show up, instead of risking a worse injury or something.

New article from NBC Sports about Bradie

One interesting quote from Tom Z that I'd like to share

“We realize that nationals is going to be kind of, we’re looking for that Hail Mary pass, right?” said Tom Zakrajsek, Tennell’s coach the last two seasons in Colorado Springs. “What I’ve seen is just grace and dignity throughout this whole process, as frustrating as it is. She’s kept her chin up.”

That article does not bode well about Bradie's chances for the Olympics. It doesn't sound like she or her team is very optimistic, and training sounds like it's been extremely hit or miss. If I were a better, I would not be betting on Bradie making the Olympic team.

Now I'm sure the US Fed has more knowledge about Bradie's condition than us, but even if the 'hail mary' works, the article makes it sound like she's still injured, why should the US Fed gamble on her to somehow be in optimal shape/condition with her training the way it is right now.

There are rumours that Alysa Liu and coaches decided to change her SP, so I am straying into this thread to ask if anyone knows if that's true before I make my predictions in the US Nats prediction contest.

TSL talked about it in their latest episode and mentioned Drew Meekins as the source. Considering Dave and Drew follow each other on Instagram, I'd assume it's true.

What‘s worrying me the most about this whole thing is that Bradie’s coach is the one who is saying that this will be a hail mary, not just the fans or other people with random knowledge about this situation. 🙁
"IF" this hail Mary pass is going to potentially cause her to live with chronic foot pain, then I hope she will quit while she is ahead. She already has a team medal and is a two time national champ. When you're 23 you have more years ahead of you than behind you. I hope the seasoned older adults around her are looking out for her best interests. It's not my problem but it's hard to watch these things unfold.
