All I want for Christmas is 260+ for Mozalev at the Nationals!Yay Andrei!! Hope this upswing continues for the rest of the season![]()
In case you missed it, the Golden Spin Gala was on tonight, right after the men's FS. I was just done with recording the skaters at Austrian Nats, so I just continued with Andrei at Golden Spin in case the stream gets blocked again. He did his SP as an exhibition, enjoy the performance:
They made a great choice to put 2T before 4S. Just need to give him a little bit more space to rest before the final 3AThe FS is just made for Andrei, he delivers it like a boss. I love how he always tells a story. So happy that he got a medal here, he really deserved it.
Now, and I hope RusFed agrees with me, Andrei for Euros!![]()
FS, 2nd best in the segment:
He does look sad.The medal ceremony. He looks so sad therequite a few people react in the comments how unfair the decision was to pass him over for Euros and how good he was and how Russia can ill afford to lose talent like that for backroom dealings.

Who wouldn’t in his shoes! He does look sad.![]()
Well, he has two huge fans in Canada, representing two provinces, lol. If he ever gets Skate America or Canada, that will make his Western Canadian Fan Club happy.I do think Mozalove has been spreading among international audience this season if GS is anything to go by![]()
I would love to see him get major ice, but I want it to happen after 4T-3T 4S fires for him in the short. 4T-2T 4S looked okay in the free. I half expected them to revise the protocol Murav'yeva-style and ding him for finishing after music in the short (maybe he managed to strike that pose before it was a problem, so yay!). With clean short, he could be in top 10, if I dream in technicolour. Without it, he is 37 in the SP before going into Eu, 6th in FS, meaning that he risks being 25th in a competition where top 24 qualify—and he would have more difficulty than Aymoz or Zhou absorbing that damage. There are lots of men in Europe who skate a mean SP. Luckily, he is a Russian man, not a Russian woman, so at 18-19, with a bronze, and that free, and maybe one or two retirements, a sliver of luck and God willing, he'll get GPs next year and that 4T-3T 4S will do the trick.Mozalev is a fantastic skater who is overlooked. His transitions, emotion etc are enough to be a future challenger for the top podium spot at the world's.
Not sending him to europeans to skate off for an Olympic spot is a huge mistake in my opinion. He is an incredible skater, and they need to start building his international reputation.
I definitely agree. It's such a shame he got left without a second Grand Prix event first and without Euros and Olympics next. I don't really understand why won't RusFed bet on him, they really do need to start working on building his reputation as I see him one of the most valiable russian contenders for the next Olympic Cycle.Mozalev is a fantastic skater who is overlooked. I really hope he manages to snatch two Grand Prix spots next season, but since our beloved RusFed left him without Euros and Olympics (at least, not sure about Worlds, hopefully they will send him to Words) this season, this might be a challenge.with a bronze, and that free, and maybe one or two retirements, a sliver of luck and God willing, he'll get GPs next year and that 4T-3T 4S will do the trick.
