There you go, here is the link. Doesn't sound like a joke to me but again, I cannot tell.

They look to me like people on Twitter who are trying to be "funny". But I agree it's hard to tell. Whether they are right or wrong, TSL cited Drew Meekins, so they at least gave a source.

I agree. Some other folks on this forum report that "Amber is injured" "Isabeau is SERIOUSLY injured"....I don't think those are true statements but again I cannot tell.

I don't know what posters you are referring to and what they said. When I have a question about what someone said on the forum, personally, I quote and ask them.Otherwise, it's difficult to specify what someone is talking about. :)

If this is referring to my post, I don't think it was speculative or gossip-mongering to say that Isabeau's injury must have been fairly serious if she withdrew from a competition as prestigious as the JGPF, especially given how tight-lipped her team was about it. I certainly hope she has recovered but JGPF was scheduled to be only a little over a month before US Nats.

Thinking out loud about Bradie's foot.

Are they allowed pain killers or is it a nono and she'll get disqualified after a drug test?

Obviously, opiates are not allowed. What some skaters have done with foot injuries is to have the foot injected with a numbing agent, such as novocaine. But skating on a numb foot is probably worse than skating on a painful foot, and a good deal riskier.

Maybe a topically applied aspirin-based cream or salon pas strip would help.

As chuckm said, something like ibuprofen or Tylenol would be fine, as well as aspirin-based creams like Voltarin. For skaters in particular, opiates would be extremely dangerous given the importance of maintaining balance doing all the tricks they do.

Does Alysa use she and they pronouns? I saw a post earlier that used both and wanted to know so I could use Alysa's preferred ones.
Oh I have been meaning to ask about this.

On Instagram Alysa has: she/they

Does this mean I can use she as much as I want since Alysa has listed it as being ok?

When discussing the usage of pronouns, it is usually best to try and utilize BOTH pronouns listed by an individual equally when referring to that individual. For example, I try to use both "she" and "they" equivalently, as an attempt to be as respectful as possible.

For example, instead of saying, "Alysa likes to go the mall, she finds the clothes aesthetically pleasing to her" you can say, "Alysa likes to go to the mall, she finds the clothes aesthetically pleasing to them."

I hope this helps.

Bradie has withdrawn from Nationals

To say I am sad would be an understatement. My figure skating journey as a fan began during the 2018 Olympics; I recall Mirai landing the historic triple-Axel, Nathan's awe-inspiring Free Skate, and Bradie ascending like a quiet storm as the U.S.' leading woman. With each subsequent season, I followed Bradie's journey meticulously, wowed by her incessancy on constant and consistent improvements technically and artistically. With each season, Bradie did something different, pushed herself a little bit further, and looked poised for a second Olympic berth. Although disappointed, I understand Bradie's decision completely and wish her a successful road towards recovery. I hope that Bradie's fervent wish to end her skating career on her own terms comes true because she deserves it. What Bradie has done for U.S. figure skating, especially its women's field, cannot be understated. Best of luck Bradie, keep on fighting.

Her team withdraw from JGPF but back to training for nationals "right away". Her team is very confidence of making podium @nationals during last interview. It implies that the injury should not be that "serious", compared to Bradie and Rika. Once again, both of us don't know the truth because we don't know Isabeau in person. Time can tell. We will find out the answer at Nationals very soon. I do think Isabeau is very capable of winning medal @nat, along with Alysa.

My thoughts are with Bradie. The Olympics aren't everything. The best moments of your life probably haven't even happened yet. So much to look forward to. Keep your chin up! I doubt she's reading this but felt the need to send positive vibes...

My favorites Bradie, Aliona, and Rika all withdrew from their Nationals with injuries. Bradie, at least, has had the Olympic experience. It is still very 😢 and bad for US skating. She has historically had
the highest scoring potential and has been so reliable. I'm so sorry that this injury has made it hard for her to achieve her goals. I hope she is able to come back next year if that is her desire. I enjoy her unique skating.

Rika and Bradie out for the entire season!!! I'm still finding it hard to process.

I don't dare to hope that we'll see them compete against each other in the Autumn Classic next season. That would be something!

I struggle to make sense of this. Why would she prefer a feminine singular pronoun is some contexts, but a plural one in others?

Also, "she" and "they" are both subject pronouns. Using "they" as an object pronoun is not correct.

Example: When the alarm clock kept ringing, I went to wake they up.
