One quad Lutz will be more than enough for the team event. I don't see a single person who will beat her in the team FS if Sasha does one quad Lutz which seems to be her money jump.
This is the main reason for RusFed to put Sasha skate FP in team event. She has a super stable quad lutz while Anna has been struggling for more than a year with only one quad. Russia needs someone who can definitely land a quad (Anna landed quad only in 2 of her last 7 public appearances)

Samodelkina made it seem that she has no free time at all to read novels or watch one episode of TV or go play Lazer tag. So I wonder if it's true, that skaters are at the rink training 12 hours a day? Radionova said she got a day off (saturdays) and I could see her playing with her dogs outside. Nowadays it's like the skaters literally have no time for anything, and I wonder, how can they possibly be happy? She mentioned in the article that she gets home late enough that she can walk the dogs but then she must go to bed or she'll be drowsy at training.

There are quite a lot of kids in the part of Australia where I live, who go to school for 6 hrs a day and then study for another 6 hours right after school. No time for anything. Then 8 hours of tutoring on Saturday and Sunday. All in the name of trying to make it into something we call "Selective School" here. It's pretty crazy but very common in some circles so I can see an elite athlete having zero spare time.

One child was forced to do trial test after trial test and was only allowed to go to bed at 11pm every night!

I did not know you were from Australia. Do you know anonymoose_au?

Very good point about how good students in your land and it's probably the same everywhere go to school for 6 hours and study for 6 hours well if my math is right that's half a day and they need to sleep for 8 hours so that leaves 4 hours for family friends (if they have any ;)) and social media. It's got to be the same for figure skaters of course and then you add in all the aspects of training and not just ice time and that's a lot of work out and training and ice time 6 days a week. It may seem like these kids like Sofia have no life but to them this is their life.

I think its true. It's a shame they can't have normal lives at all. All the kids doing this 12 hours a day limiting their outside lives I'm still only 1% if that will make it big in figure skating. I think this Sofia you speak of can be special but she's already been training Ultra jumps for a couple years and she's 14 so how is she going to be physically in two or three years is the big question? Yes she's a strong athlete compared to most of the other girls but that ice is hard for falling on it or for jumping up and down in skates on it. This sport will take a toll on you no matter how great you are both Plushie and Yags have hardware stores in their back. Adelina had surgery on her neck etc etc etc.

So that's why we haven't seen Liza B, Anna F or Ksenia T this season.

I still hope Anna F considers a country swap.
I think if a Russian woman wants to swap they need money from parents/relatives/sponsors. I have no idea if Anna has that. I think it’s hard to find a federation paying for a figure skater spending most of their time living and training in Russia. Only showing up at nationals if there even is one. (Georgia comes to mind.. when was their last nationals?… still qualifying for the olympic team event).

I don't know if this is mentioned before, but Maria Talalaikina's switch to Italy is granted from 1 June 2022. Yay!!
Happy for Talalaikina. I hope she has connections and friends in Italy? She's training there right? Way to go!
I remember Davydov mentioning it, but he was also saying that the foot injury took them by surprise and was slow in healing. Wishing Anna speedy recovery. Also, if the country move is considered, Canada is really nice country…. Just saying.
Anna in your dreams :)
