Jason Brown

One more post from me before I call it a day ( a loooooong day).

While hoping to find video of the gala, I found this. It's not Jason, but it seems Jason has really inspired some of the other skaters at the Cricket Club. This video is of another TCC skater, performing at Canadian Nationals. to The Question of U and it appears from the choreo ... that he and his choreographer really liked Jason's program. Nice complement, I guess.

Personally, I would NOT want to try to emulate one of Jason's programs. You won't compare well to the original.

Corey skating his SP to The Question of U and doing a Jason tribute(?).🥰

Actually, I saw Corey's Prince program in the livestream at Canadian Nats and thought he was *wonderful*. Very much in the Jason tradition, elegant lines, performance.

No one is ever Jason of course ;)

I love the idea that there are young skaters who want to skate like Jason. Young skaters who work on skating skills and jumps will push the sport in a balanced way.

Well, it's a little late, but I just want to say a few words.
I remember Jason as a funny-looking baby (he had nice long hair). I used to watch that boy growing up. And I am delighted to see what a great skater he has become now.
How handsome he is!
He is a well-rounded man capable of mature emotions and deep feel. I love his beautiful gentle skating, intelligent programs and kind heart.
I shall be happy to see him at the Olympic Games (sorry, I feared it might never happen). And now I'm very glad.
Thanks a bunch for your skating, Jason Brown, and good luck with it all!

So I am watching the gala on the Olympic Channel, and why did none of you tell me that all the Olympians got a special guitar? JASON HAS A SPECIAL OLYMPIC GUITAR. That's so cool.

I think it's very unfair that Jason was left out of the Worlds team. Or should I say, I think it's unfair that he was deprived of the bronze because of the blatant over scoring of Vincent in the free skate who doesn't deserve to go to Worlds over Jason.
This happened in 2014 also (although the circumstances were different): Jason went to the Games, and Max Aaron went to Worlds. I am happy just for Jason to go to the Games and that we will see this wonderful skater there.

when the world says you're crazy, show them that they're wrong...dream on...

it's fine i'm just over here UGLY CRYING MY HEART OUT over that exhibition

especially the part where he just sits on the board crying for the first minute

of course, he cries prettily, because he's perfect

while i was bawling so hard i have to clean my glasses now

I'm getting used to the unfairness and at least they did the right thing for the Olympics based on their own criteria. Vincent going to Worlds is the right choice based on placement, but not on the scoring.
If Jason does not go to Worlds, now I really don't see him retiring unless he gets a bronze individual medal at the Olympics or something. And I kinda would like him to retire for his own sake, even though, obviously, selfishly I don't.
But do you guys think Nathan will go to Worlds if he'll be Olympic champion?
In 2018 Adam Rippon was the one to withdraw, so there's still a chance, that is if they don't get cancelled.

I'm also worried about Jason's training before the Games. What will he do? I assume Tracy needs to remain in Nashville for about two weeks. Will he go to Canada alone and train with Brian? I'm confused and worried because he needs that preparation to be ready in time.

I’m really sad that they had to limit the comments on USFS instagram post announcing the team. The majority are claiming Ilia was robbed and criticising Jason. It makes me really sad to see this outpouring of vitriol for him.

Also waiting on his OWN instagram post - so used to the daily scheduling I’m getting a gary waiting for the one we’ve ALL been waiting for!

I will also admit I’m nervous about the COVID situation, I find it really hard to believe that Jason won’t test positive in a day or so.

Haters gonna hate. The thing is they are fewer, but more loud. Jason has thousands of fans, if not more, who are happy. I think if he wouldn't have been chosen is when all hell would have broken loose (because Ilia doesn't have one international score over 250--which should be easy with his quads). Fans, and even more neutral people, wouldn't have been quiet. Of course, now we're relieved and not commenting on every section, but the haters are at it full force. Jason is always involved in controversy because he happens to be the PCS and GOE king, it comes with the territory for being great and a superstar I guess. 😀

I’m not surprised by Tara’s comments since she only knows jumps but Johnny Weir really disappointed me. For all his talk about how important the artistic side of skating should be, he didn’t hesitate to throw Jason under the bus. Hopefully the selection committee will repeat what they did in 2018.
I just need to come over here and say I wish ppl would stop ignoring the technical prowess of Jason's skating skills. I know you all do not. It's not like he's some bum skating around between triples. I mean, everyone keeps talking about how Jason doesn't jump and how he is overscore.d Let's see what Illia, Nathan, or Vincent could score with Jason's program?
Skating skills are the foundation for skating at this level. I’ve seen many skaters in this Nationals that do not know how to skate. Period.

Ilia will be on the top for 4 years - it’s not his time. He can’t win the Olympics with those skating skills.

I have been constantly reloading since 5:30 here, since I forgot about the time difference. I have been depressed all day since the end of Men's. I am now so happy, crying and thankful. USFS did the right thing. I am going to send them a donation!! I wish I was there to see it. The right skater, the best all around skater in the world, is going to the Olympics! GO JASON!!!!!
I’m also glad he had support in the Kiss and Cry.
