Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

How? They take tests and submit them to WADA for analyze. They don't work with tests by themselves.
You are right. I totally missed that WADA revoked the approval status for the Moscow Lab in October 2021. But that means that the testing/reporting process is really still compromised inside of Russia. I didn't think that it was still that bad. I'm kind of shocked to be honest.
So I guess that there are many samples from Russian athletes still not tested! Because the Moscow Lab is big and without it there must be a bottleneck. Aaah!

they may had to take chance as Kamila was destined to be the star of whole ogm 2022. name other athletes other countries will know. I can't and I'm not even Russian

well then they put her at risk of also being infamously known worldwide,
and from what I gather from the Russian statement, she was aware of this too.

Fair. So the question is now, why would the Russian federation decide to go ahead anyways with this athlete
and take their chances, as we all know that they are heavily scrutinised on doping, and also that they have
a vast pool of potential (and probable) medal contenders to choose from for the single events, and an
overall superiority in the team event even without relying on this specific contender, why would they jeopardise
the result of an entire team, and put this specific athlete at a risk of being discredited in front of the entire world?
let's say there is a ruling a month provision sentence then that would mean only until after euros she already completed that, and will be cleared to compete.

That's taking a chance, and they all were aware, I'm just stressing this in favour of many of the people who
feel bad about this being dragged through the media right now, it was a conscious choice to enter this domain.

Do we even know the usual suspension period athletes in situations like this receive?
I think it's usually more than a couple months.

this is not new it happened in 2016 Rio. yiulia egimova wa able to compete. it all depends on cas ruling

You aren’t actually reading anything, are you? The samples taken at Nationals were sent to a WADA lab in Sweden. The results came back on Feb 8, after the team event. (Why it took so long is perplexing). Obviously, only Kamila’s test is positive. How that speaks about the testing process in Russia, when the samples were sent to and analysed in Sweden’s lab? How that jeopardises the ROC team, when the samples of the other skaters from the team event are clean?
Thank you. My apologies.
How do you know that the samples from the other athletes clean, when there isn't even an official statement, that at least one was not?
With this huge bottleneck, and all Russian athletes (I mean not only figure skating) relying on the support of the Moscow lab, I expect the absolute worst!

I personally think that 15 is too young to be competing at the Olympics. The minimum age should be raised.
It is weird that this argument always appears in figure skating, while there are sports with even lower eligibility and it doesn't seem anyone is bothered...
I've always been Tutberidze's fanboy, but with every minute, hour and day of her silence on the topic, she's losing my respect.

Time to speak up, Eteri. 😐
Eteri very rarely comments on anything unless she is asked directly. When she was asked two days ago she responded "I'm not commenting on the base of rumours." Honestly what else she can say.

Speak about what? ROC already issued official statement, and it make no sense for Eteri (or any other members of group) to speak right now, before matters are settled. After that, yes, i myself expect something from her, but not before all legal battles finished.

yep skateboarding had 13 year old winner. Sky Brown. I guess it's only a sensation and applauded if your western

This is still the same. It is as if anyone could say "how can be anyone not considered a murderer when there is no official statement he isn't." That's not how the things work. Once again, I am perplexed how this basic principle is so hard to understand.

Are you kidding me? 🤨

I know YOU and ME adore this group, that coach and Russian skating, but seriously?
well eteri never comments on anything to media unless it's about students leaving her camp. her response was expected..she usually makes no comments

If it was any other athlete as young as her, they’d step back and work towards another cycle. But we know this is near impossible coming from where she comes.
Why not? She will be 19 and there will be no 15yo or 16yo skaters.
Moreover, I'm pretty sure the ban will be quite short, she may even be back next season.

Speaking how she didn't order/supervised applying trimetazidine into Kamila's body would be a good start, don't you think?
