Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

Your advice is suitable for criminals trying to stay off public radar, not for the most regarded and beloved coach in figure skating.
You're talking about her criminal court tactics, I'm talking about her public opinion and fans relations.

She owes explanation to all the people who respect and adore her (like myself).
this is not a fan mater it's a legal matter involving serious consequences. so your comment has to be tactical and in the right time. When my parents got sued we kept it a secret that even our relatives didn't know only out lawyer.

Time to speak up, Eteri. 😐

Some people...🙄 that's the most stupid thing she could do right now.

Detrimental to her own position, since this is an ongoing legal case and any comment she could possibly make will be used against her there, and most of all in the court of public opinion.
But most importantly her job as a coach of 3 underaged girls right now is to shield them from this media hell as best she can and train them as best she can for the biggest competition of their lifes.
That's her primary job right now. Whatever she has or hasn't done or given to them before the Olympics she should deal with after the Ladies FS. They can't let the girls down even more than they already have.

I am actually bothered about it :) I didn't like at all the fact that a 14yo Chinese girl won in diving in Tokyo last year not to mention skateboarding... I think they should raise minimum age in all sports to at least 16.
well then you are a minority. As I've said recently, last week there appeared a new "nearly a national hero" in our country, 14 y.o. czech tennis player Brenda Fruhvirtová won a professional tournament for the first time. Our sport servers, which in those rare times when they inform about figure skating, do not miss the opportunity to pick at "prepubescent russian skaters who attend senior tournaments", are in awe and celebrating her success. Of course there is always national bias but the difference is too apparent.

Don't you understand that if Eteri is guilty, I don't want her sitting next to Anya in the K&C in the most important moment of her life?

Why did it take so long for the Swedish lab in Stockholm to react? A sample taken 25th of December, and they reported the result 8th of February!!! The whole handling of the testing procedures needs to be more efficient and faster!! Especially when they know Olympics are coming up...

Well if Kami will be suspended and let's say she comes back and wins the next olympics it will be probably among the most triumphant moments in the history of the olympics. But in the mean time many, many and I mean really many of nasty things and words will be observed.
Have you read nasty words against her? I haven't. The articles I read were rather compassionate.

Our national hero won the Olympics at the age of 14 in swimming so Hungarian sport servers usually do not say anything negative about children participating in major sport events...

I think it's just Covid. We ran out of meat and toilet paper and I lived! No vegetables either! So I can imagine a test taking ages to come back if the was staff taking sickies etc

Statement from WADA:

I'm not sure if this was specified earlier in the thread, but if someone can clarify please what
would give RUSADA the impression they have this kind of authority? do they have this kind of authority?

And furthermore if they do have this authority (which is implied from this WADA appeal that they shouldn't),
how the hell did they ever receive it?

So you'd rather have her coach herself for the "most important moment of her life" as you correctly state, or maybe Sasha and Anna can just make do and coach each other? Since in this hypothetical reality their coaching team is either busy giving media statements so we fans can have sth to gossip or even better - directly withdrawn from the Olympic village and escorted to jail on things that have not been officially sanctioned yet, as many people want?

Kamila's coaches should shut up, keep their heads down and focus 100% on their 3 students until after the Ladies FS. Then the vultures can have at them for all that I care.

I just have this awful sinking feeling that if this doesn't play out well, the powers that be will train Kamila to take the fall for this.

Something along the lines of: It was all my fault. I'm deeply sorry. I did bad things all on my own.

What else can we say to that?

And everybody else will go on living fabulous lives while they boot Kamila off the island.

the IOC or Wada was going to appeal anyways. YES National Sporting Federations have authority to sanction

So they can basically decide whatever they want and not let anyone in on their process,
which coming from any country, let alone one that's under increased doping scrutiny,
is almost sure to be met by some resistance from a bigger non national organisation shortly after,
what's the point then? just hoping it some cases just kinda get through international inspection?
