Senior Men Short

Oh, they showed Tessa and Scott's OD.

Would have been nice to have heard Dark Eyes instead of the music from the arena though...

Fedor is baaaaacccckkkk!!

kevin reynolds

crowd loved hometown boy
cautious entry to 4sal (forward lean)-1toe, nerve seemed to get the better of him.
easy 3a, his first 3a in competitions
3lutz, easy, what a jumper
circular steps, better than last year's, still room for improvement, slow.
straight line sequence; he hasn't figured out how to skate to music, yet.
skating between the jumps is not his forte, but he is canada's answer to Kevin Van Der Perron, yay!.

he lost 3 marks for doing single toe after 4 sal.

vaughn chipeur,

blues concerto,

uncluttered style, pure energy
best 3a, he just flew
3flip -3 toe, his first attempt at 3-3, slight turn-out on the second jump with hands down.
circular steps, audience friendly gesture,
combination spin, not a lot of speed
steps to 3lutz, another huge jump
straight step sequence, not a lot of speed, but again audience friendly, and audience is already on their feet.
sit spin to conclude.

he brought his A-game here.

Canadian skaters always do much much better at Nationals...:chorus:

They then usually bomb at worlds...

patrick chan

another uplifting performance, although he missed 3a.
3a, hands-down, right shoulder dropped on landing.
come back with a soft, light 3f-3t
circular great moves, uses his edges well to curve ice
fast combination spin, good spinner as well.
steps to 3 lutz, wow, he is so effortless with great knee bend.
sit spins, good centering, tremendous speed
straight speed, good control of edges, in changing directions
conclude with sit spin,

first time this season to miss 3a. he looked somewhat disappointed. what a promise he holds for Canada.

Thanks! Great score for Chipeur! I'm sure that's a pb for him. wonder how Chan will stack up?

shawn sawyer,

a poor victim of pressure cooker competition.
clean 3f-3t
3a, a little cheated, and two footed. not enough height
sit spin, good as always
steps to single lutz, costly mistake
circular steps, the previous mistake takes the steam out of usually his passionate performance
sliding sideway on the blades,
straight line, again, very fast
fast sit spin
fast combination spin leading to his signature spins

OH NO! Poor Shawn . . . hopefully, he can put that behind him and look forward to the LP and skate well.

Chris Mabee,

once again rose to the occasion
spartacus, serious music, more mature look to his skating.
3f-3t, slight turn-out on the 3t
3a, clean as whistle, looks like fully rotated.
sit spin to circular steps, very difficult
steps to 3lutz, one of his best lutz
straight steps, changes of edges, and turns
combination spins to conclude.

Jeffrey Buttle,

he nailed it.
went back to last year's sp.
3f-3t good quality
3axel , a little forward lean on the landing.
sit spin,
choreo well sync with the music.
steps to 3 lutz, very good.
sit spin
circular steps, very intricate moves,
straight steps, a little bit of dance moves. no tension on the blades, he just went with the flow.
rafael arantunian, on his feet, pumping his fist.
standing ovation, the marks are hugh.

Glad to see the Jeffrey we know is back! Very good for him; he needed this vindication!:clap::clap::thumbsup:

First of all, FUMIE_FUMIE, YOU ROCK!
Thank you so much!

Was Jeff's performance that much better than Patrick's, or were the judges determined to give the first to Jeff?

Well I predicted Chan would take the title from Buttle. So far, not so much. Let's see what happens in the long I guess...
