Sasha: 4F, 2S popped, 4Т, 2А, 4Lz fall, 2Lz popped, 2Lz popped

The junior worlds will be postponed to may. Which I guess equals to no junior worlds again. So no 3 Sofias in Sofia so far :(

No! To me, this is horrible news! 😭 I was most looking forward to watching the 3 Sofia’s to Sofia. They also just finished running an event there this past week. It is so painful being a figure skating fan recently. I should just stick to sports with better funding like tennis, where ATP events and Grand Slams have taken place unbothered for more than a full year.

Wait , so if based on the new age rules and if they get implemented does that mean Sofia Aketieva won’t be eligible until the next Olympic 2025-2026 season since she is born on July 7th ?
actually in 2026 akatieva will be 18 close to 19, years old so she should be eligible before that as well

finally good news:

"
Russian figure skater Daria Usacheva first appeared on the ice after a leg injury.

“Today, for the first time in a long time, I went out on ice, which is incredibly happy! ... ”, Usacheva wrote on Instagram.

Usacheva was injured during the warm-up before the short program at the Grand Prix stage in Japan.
"
on instagram (as well as in the article at the link) there is also a video

Actually we don't know for sure if it will be held in May. A decision is expected by the next online ISU Council meeting, scheduled for February 24, 2022.

Yes. Based on how they are planning to raise the minimum age, this will be the age-eligibility for the next couple of seasons:

2022/23: 15 - born before 1st of July 2007
2023/24: 16 - born before 1st of July 2007
2024/25: 17 - born before 1st of July 2007
2025/26: 17 - born before 1st of July 2008 (Olympic season)

So we would actually see only two generations of juniors move up into seniors before the next Olympics.

Excerpt of notable Juniors born before 1st of July 2007: Sofia Samodelkina, Adeliia Petrosian, Sofia Muravieva, (Anastasia Zinina)
And born between 1st of July of 2007 and 1st of July 2008: Sofia Akatieva, Veronika Zhilina
(Of course, there are even more juniors, who might show incredible development over the next few seasons and fall into these two age groups.)

Okay, that’s another nice thing we can’t have 💔

just read that anna injured her ankle in training 2 days ago? anyone know if that is true ( i hope not) ? could explain why she did go from jumping 3 quads in training to almost only jumping triplesand falling from her quads in the past few trainings ?

some kind of fixing bandage was seen on her leg. In addition, she was very upset and even cried on the ice. I can't say anything for sure, I want this report to be false, that's all. So far, only a decrease in the complexity of the program is obvious.

Of course, even without quads, Anna's program will surpass anyone except Sasha and Camila. But very disappointing if the injury. Anna is our best person in the team, if not in the whole country. I would like her to win anyway.

Officially these Olympic Games are out for me...
It's rumored on Twitter that Anna suffered an ankle injury, she was seen crying at practices yesterday and today😭 There are even pictures of Sasha in tears too...
Angry at RusFed for making them come here two weeks early even knowing they weren't going to compete in the team event, with the crazy training schedules (who can perform at a 6am workout after getting up at 3am), With practices so tight...
They could have arrived later as Stepanova/Bukin, but now they are physically and mentally exhausted with all the scandal that we all already know... I don't care who wins these games anymore, I just want to see the girls happy and healthy. Everything is so devastating...

I have similar feelings but maybe it's not that sad. In last trainings girls looked solid, Kami did mostly clean runthru of both SP and FS today. After some time, you usually get used to the stress, like soldiers in war, first and second time you are frightened from every sound, then you get used to it.

As fo Anna, mostly her trainings are not very succesful close to the competition, but of course injury would be heartbreaking considering how close to perfection were her initial skates in China. I hope she will awake her internal competitive self again during the skates.

But yes, I'm completely unsure whether I'll follow it more than just checking the results (esp. if Kami will be suspended).

That's what happens when you are rooting for a skater. As far as I am concerned, I have been rooting for figure skating only, it's much more comfortable. And I have never been disappointed since the winner is always the best skater. :)
