Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

I feel so bad for Jessica. Unlike Kamila, the benefit of the doubt wasn't given to her, and her shot at Worlds was taken.

This also makes me think about Shacarri Richardson. For being banned not only from competing at the Olympics but for ONE YEAR for taking a non performance enhancing drug. But people who support this decision dont care about the hypocrisy, so long as their fav is skating. Absolutely horrible.

I'm not spiritual whatsoever but to whatever higher powers there are, give this girl strength.
To all the vultures on here, can you even IMAGINE with what kind of a mental state Kamila is going into this event?
She has no freaking advantage anymore, even if she was given some substance to let her train 1h longer before December, this whole spectacle has put her at an enormous mental and I'm willing to bet successive physical disadvantage. While her competitors were preparing, she had to deal with this, up to the point of having to attend a court hearing during the night before her skate?! Lipnitskaya at 15yo broke under intense positive media attention back in Sochi. Kamila has had double that attention but the negative, verbal harassment, hatred from all over the world, kind.

If for some reason she manages to perform well and not crumble mentally, give her the damn Gold Medal just for that.

You should be more concerned about the health of the abused girls at Sambo-70.
As I read there will be an investigation and they will ask the girls, you'll be surprised by their answers. Russian culture is different from us on how you term abuse.

I remain confused. I thought it was confirmed that she tested positive in December. If those results had been processed promptly, she wouldn't have been eligible to compete in the Olympics. Right? Or would this protected person rule, or some other loophole, spared her, anyway?

This is ROC though.

Laws relating to doping and child abuse do not apply to them. Hiding behind someone's age to dope to their heart's content.

Disappointed with this decision, and also disappointed with anyone who have been arguing for this decision because "I have to defend one of my own / my country is being picked on" or "everyone else dopes too, they just haven't been caught / have learned to play the system." Not gonna put Sun Yang or any other athlete above the integrity of the sport.
