Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

The adults that likely put her in this situation to begin with?

The path CAS took means nothing will happen. There will be no meaningful investigation. There will be more change.

More minors will be abused.

I really hope this is not the outcome. I would optimistically like to think that the official bodies governing our sport are better than that.

IF she wins?

I'm assuming she wins, otherwise it'll be a huge upset.
Considering the sh$tstorm that has taken place there is really no prediction for what will happen. Can she win after everything she's been through? Can she do those quads in whatever stage of mind she's in? I just want the best for her. No tears hopefully.

Really you could not write this drama in fiction. It's just nuts.

Not the best idea though, there are interviews with Nadia Comaneci as she was training and then
when she was older and those are two very different descriptions and states of mind of what she's been through
and how it effected her long term.
the investigation they'll ask the children too I'm sure

This is a small victory on the part of Russian sport. The CAS has proven that it is a fairly impartial body, which takes neither political context nor commercial interests into account - relying solely on legal arguments and the principle of justice, which in this case was on the side of the athlete. The CAS pointed out the imperfection of the World Anti-Doping Code and the anti-doping rules developed on their basis. They emphasized that the issue of suspensions of protected persons had not been regulated properly.

Most importantly, they pointed out that irreparable harm would be done to the athlete if she was not allowed to participate in a personal tournament. As a result, she could either be found completely innocent or given a minimal punishment, but she could no longer be reinstated at the Olympics. A fair decision.
The most rational and intelligent comment I've read on this forum today.

Nope, ADHD is only treated with potent drugs in some countries and only when it is so strong that people can't concentrate on anything. This is hardly the case of Ms. Biles in the sport where the highest level of coordination and concentration is required. But for you, hypocrites, it does not matter.
A doctor and WADA disagree with you. On what authority do you say "This is hardly the case of Ms. Biles"? You have 0 knowledge of expertise in her specific condition. It is frankly insulting to pretend otherwise. She followed the rules and got the medications she took approved.

ROC did not, and for very obvious reasons since there is no medical justification for the drugs they are giving to children.

she was landing quads in practice just before yesterday. before the hearing. This will actually remove pressure from Kamila and others. I'm sure her phone has been confiscated to avoid seeing any social media reaction

By this logic all dopers should be allowed to compete. After all, it will hurt their career if they don't.

Decision is so saddening. Rewards child drugging by coaches with a probable gold medal.

It's a quote from the head of the Russian Olympic Committee in an interview. Here's a translation:

“In accordance with WADA international standards for accredited anti-doping laboratories, this result should have been uploaded to the system within 20 days after receipt by the laboratory. Even if we take 20 days, this is the maximum period, it turns out that the sample was delivered to the Stockholm laboratory on January 19 , and handed over on December 25. That is, for almost a month she was walking somewhere, "Pozdnyakov said in an interview with the Sunday Time program on Channel One."
That quote is conflicted as I read it. Handed over 25th Dec, but delivered 19th Jan. What does that mean??

So, is there any other cause of delay here? All I can think of is that it is during the Christmas/New Years holidays and the delivery system in Sweden and/or Russia didn't work.

Still unclear.

Part of the delay was that ROC can't test its own samples anymore due to their manipulation of data. So in a way this ruling rewards their doping on two fronts....

There are also rumors that the testing center was backed up due to staff covid cases.

If Trusova lands 5 quads she will win given Kamilas current vulnerability, the judges will be willing to give it to another skater just to defuse the media reaction

I don't see it in the numbers, even for just the FS,
and Trusova still hasn't shown us a 3A so I'm assuming she's 12-15 points away after the SP.
