Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

as they say everything is for money. if these gets a spin off movie. A young 15 year old girl that was wronged but won the obstacle to compete, a 5 quad jumper with red hair and all around nice girl reigning world champion. Who will play the 3 girls ?

I wonder how the international media will comment on your SP on Tuesday. The same media that never tired of fawning over her in the team event, the incredible, magical and ethereal Kamila Valieva. What will Tara and Johny say?

The entire investigation will revolve around asking people nicely whether or not they doped or know about it.

... and then they will shrug and say they couldn't find anything, because the IOC and WADA are worthless ROC pawns.
they will ask all senior entourage including eteri. if she doesn't get the verdict thus forum thinks. I can't imagine the thread will be about.

I don't have details of Jessica's case but it seems that she hasn't understood the matter either. They did not resolve in a week that Kamila is innocent, they decided that under the WADA laws there were not enough reasons to eliminate her from the Olympic Games. The cases are not even compared.
Oh yes, they are. Jessica was not allowed to skate for 8 MONTHS until she was found clean. While Kamila, with a positive test, can compete immediately.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

My guess is nothing. Some vague comment about a controversy without specifying.

They did that a lot today in the Monobob competition when talking about the US Woman who left Canada after alleged abuse. Ridiculously vague comments about the whole issue.

I hope I am wrong and they don't sweep the serious issue of child abuse under the rug, but I am not hopeful.

ROC did not, and for very obvious reasons since there is no medical justification for the drugs they are giving to children.

I won't go further with Ms.Biles argument. It's clear for me what was going on there and her apologists have a different point of view which I am quite well aware of.

Where is the evidence that "they" gave drugs to Kamila? The investigation is on. How this stuff which has 0 sense as a doping unless being taken as course got into her? There is no answer yet. Well, you and folks like you surely stated it already: "evil child abusers". But it's not the reality - it's just your reality.

I advised those who are "full of emotions" to cool down as it is futile. I won't do it again. Burst with anger, write petitions - I don't care. One person wrote that they left figure skating and GS forever. I won't cry about it and also I won't be surprised to see that poster again here.

well how will you ask children if they are doped ? they will ask both the senior entourage and the students

The decision surprised me, the reactions did not.

As I've argumented before, the trials in sport can't follow different standards than any others, no matter how much you disagree and call for the judge lynch practices (there is a very strong and necessary reason why legal proceedings have their standards). Still let's remember this is only the very beginning, it is a procedural decision, not the final decision in the case at all.

At the end, I say: There is only one justice and it's purpose is to punish the guilty and protect the innocent, and the decision who belongs where can't be based on public opinion.

Kamila, whether she medals or not, will be forever tainted. It won't happen, but one way she could salvage her reputation is by making the decision herself to drop out of the competition. She's young; she can go to another coach and easily rebuild.

So what you are saying is that you don't have a leg to stand on and Biles followed the rules? Yup, as I thought.

The options are
A) They gave her the drugs (adults are responsible)
B) She took it herself (she is a minor and adults are still responsible)

or you can believe

C) It rains illegal drugs in Russia and a heart medication accidentally fell in her tea.

Most importantly, they pointed out that irreparable harm would be done to the athlete if she was not allowed to participate in a personal
What about the irreparable harm that will come to Kamila if she's stripped of her medals months later, as she will be unless the positive test was wrong?

It will break her. She'll forever be the "doper". Many years from now she'll look back and wonder if it's worth it.

Someone convinced her that her medals wouldn't be taken away...she won't see it coming. What do you think that will do to her? :(

Would be nice, but this is the ROC and Eteri.

If she wins gold I doubt we see her compete again.

This is why it makes no sense to say the investigation hasn’t been completed therefore there is “no evidence against her”. There apparently was such evidence against other athletes who were suspended immediately and had to prove their innocence. It’s a double standard.

That quote is conflicted as I read it. Handed over 25th Dec, but delivered 19th Jan. What does that mean??

So, is there any other cause of delay here? All I can think of is that it is during the Christmas/New Years holidays and the delivery system in Sweden and/or Russia didn't work.
The quote means that on the Russian side they gave the sample to non-Russian WADA representative on Dec. 25. The result was announced on Feb.8. The maximum allowed time for the lab to do the test is 20 days. Therefore, the question is why it took the sample from Dec.25 to Jan.19 or 25 days to get from St.Petersburg to Stockholm? It's about 700 km by sea. Even a slow ship would take not more than 2 days to get there.

But she will be loved in Russia. That is all she, her team, and CAS care about. I hope the ratings from this lasts.
